There is an issue in Kodi where if plugins are used inside the info dialog, it can cause slow downs on some systems. It's not related to the actual plugin because the plugin is only active whilst the content is loading. It's something to do with how kodi handles the content after it loads.

I've noticed that it affects performance regardless of whether the info dialog is active or not.

Would you consider having an option to use fade animations, similar to Estuary, or would this be a pain to implement? It might be a good option for low end devices or anyone seeing issues with the current transitions.

The issue isn't the transition (also skin uses the same type of slide in from sides transition for info dialog as Estuary). The issue is a drop in FPS due to some Kodi core issue with processing plugin paths.

Yeah that helps but detracts from a lot of useful info.

It won't help with overall stutters tho.

On a related note, I was just playing around with Arctic Zephyr on my Shield TV and noticed it is much smoother than it used to be, even with 5 to 6 TMDBH widgets on main menus. After some looking around I realized I hadn't installed marcelv's repo. After installing it, skin helper addons got updated and stuttering came back. I was able to pinpoint the cause of my stuttering to the skin helper widget addon,   1.0.22 from kodi repo is almost stutter free,  1.0.53 from marcel's is stutter mode.
So I disabled auto-update and kept 1.0.22. Pretty smooth so far.

Maybe this can give you a lead as to what's going on with AH?

Gona clone my Kodi install into my windows10 laptop and see Tongue

This skin doesn't use Skin Helper Service or Skin Helper Widgets and you can safely remove both if you are only using this skin.

I know yeah, just a thought maybe you implemented similar code from skin helper into AH which causes similar stutter on my device.
Or maybe to check differences between skin helper versions and understand what could be the cause and relate to AH?
oh well.
thanks anyways

Just want to say the , smooth slide in from both sides in info dialog is a really neat feature tx.

I have a big issue with TMDb helper.. please see video attached.

When trying to play a movie through TMDb trending today.. nothing is playing on Kodi, however when minimalizing Kodi on Shield TV the Shield TV is giving a pop up the movie is playing. After trying to open this, nothing is happening in kodi. Not sure how to fix this.

When opening a movie through the recommendations in info dialog (I believe this is also TMDb helper?) And hitting play the movie starts to play and no issue at all.

Playing series with TMDb helper no issues at all.

Movie LINK with Issue

Is this with PKC or EmbyCon? It's an issue with those plugins not TMDbHelper.

Both not.. I am using Emby for Kodi and synchronised all my movies to Kodi Library

I'm still using both tho, because I want to use the Next Episodes widget from skin helper widgets.
I'm not seeing how TMDB helper offers the same widget, maybe I'm overlooking something?

Also; when I navigate through the TMDB helper add-on it's really slow, loading takes too long. Any suggestions what could be causing that?

IF you're using a widget from it, then use it - you were just saying that it causes slow downs, that's all...

Do you have fanart tv lookups turned on in TMDbHelper - that can increase loading time considerably. Any other options that aren't enabled by default will also add extra loading time.

Just use embuary helper instead. Same functionality but much quicker in my opinion.

Just set them to nothing, a blank input.

If you set them to nothing, they turn white.

EDIT: @Edworld - Added option to reset colours in latest version.
