RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - spyder - 2013-10-23 (2013-10-23, 18:29)scilz Wrote: i have worked out a way around dead strms. i noticed that dead strms usually come back on at some point and there are usually a few strms for each channel online somewhere. example i have 3 espn2 strms and they go out sometimes but i have never had all 3 out at the same time. so i put all 3 in a strm file then used directory channel in ptvl and point to that strm file. all works great except now i don't have xmltv info for that channel cause it is a directory. so what i am asking is if anyone knows of a way to use xmltv data with a directory channel or has any ideas for another work around.Do m3u files work with PTVL and xmltv? Or has this already been tried/discussed? Have you tried chtype 8 with a multiple link strm? spyder Wrote: Do m3u files work with PTVL and xmltv? Or has this already been tried/discussed?M3u's are the main component for each channel. A collection of sources in m3u format could be dissected for its links then added to ptvl. RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - scilz - 2013-10-23 im not sure how to make a multiple link strm i tried just putting a space then 2nd strm also tried a , then 2nd strm neither worked. RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - Lunatixz - 2013-10-23 (2013-10-23, 23:16)scilz Wrote: im not sure how to make a multiple link strm i tried just putting a space then 2nd strm also tried a , then 2nd strm neither worked. just put another link into the strm under the first one, no extra characters just a space... A strm file is the same as any other playlist, it can be opened like a playlist to show the list of links inside of it... PTV doesn't play nice with multiple link strms... but a added a few tweaks that might allow it to play... RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - scilz - 2013-10-23 oh yes thats what im using now but how do i add a strm file to channel type 8? i was trying to just add multiple strms in the settings2 i know how to add a strm file with multiple strms in it to directory channel but not sure how this is possible with chan type 8. RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - Lunatixz - 2013-10-23 (2013-10-23, 23:36)scilz Wrote: oh yes thats what im using now but how do i add a strm file to channel type 8? i was trying to just add multiple strms in the settings2 i know how to add a strm file with multiple strms in it to directory channel but not sure how this is possible with chan type 8. Directory, and chtype 8 are two different things, and will never be mixed... there is no need too Directory builds 1 channel and fills it with all the strms and media it can find... Everything. Chtype 8 builds 1 channel with 1 strm or media source and fills entries with xmltv info. Directory mode is it's own chtype... What I want to know which I never tested since making some new changes is... If you have 1 strm file, that when opened has a few links to the same show... does it fallback to the next link when the first fails, within PTVL? RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - scilz - 2013-10-24 i dont want to mix directory and chan type 8 i want to use chan type 8 with 2 links set up in the settings2. i tried adding the 1st link then another that does not work so that should answer your question. but you are saying add a few links to a strm file exactly how would i go about adding a strm file to chan type 8 i did not think that was possible. and yes if you have a strm file with 2 links it does fallback but again i have no idea how i would add a strm file to anything except directory. RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - Lunatixz - 2013-10-24 (2013-10-24, 00:59)scilz Wrote: i dont want to mix directory and chan type 8 i want to use chan type 8 with 2 links set up in the settings2. i tried adding the 1st link then another that does not work so that should answer your question. but you are saying add a few links to a strm file exactly how would i go about adding a strm file to chan type 8 i did not think that was possible. and yes if you have a strm file with 2 links it does fallback but again i have no idea how i would add a strm file to anything except directory. I think we are both confused here... You can't add more then one "_2" source to ptvl's settings... this will never happen! How to add a strm to chtype 8 or 9 is documented in the second post. Example sources under chtype 8 "LiveTV" shows using a strm file, this was a feature from day one I want to know if you setup a channel doesn't matter what type 8/9 with a "_2" switch directly to a strm file that contains a backup link to the same source, does PTVL when the first link fails play the second? Hope that helps clear things up... RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - Lunatixz - 2013-10-24 (2013-10-24, 02:17)scilz Wrote: <setting id="Channel_85_type" value="9" /> I think i'm not being clear enough... You can't use two sources at all ever in PTVL's settings2.xml Change: Code: <setting id="Channel_85_2" value="rtmp://live.iguide.to/edge playpath=lf4cc63667vxzlx live=1 timeout=15 swfUrl=http://player.ilive.to/player_ilive_2.swf pageUrl=http://www.ilive.to/embedplayer.php?width=640&height=480&channel=41423&autoplay=true token=I8772LDKksadhGHGagf# to: Code: <setting id="Channel_85_2" value="smb://ipaddress/path/test.strm" /> Fill in your info on where it can find the strm file... now open the strm file with notepad. place the two links into the strm file. Test in xbmc before ptvl... then test in ptvl RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - scilz - 2013-10-24 k i got it now i did not know you could point a _2 to a file i thought you had to place a link there ill go check yes that works i put dead strm 1st then good strm 2nd and it tried 1st then played 2nd fine. RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - scilz - 2013-10-24 k so now that we know this method works if we have say 3 espn2 links we can add all them to a strm file then point _2 to that strm file, and it will try link 1,2 ect so this should help with dead strms a lot. awesome and sry for the confusion i just did not know we could point the _2 to a file. that opens up some other ideas i have to. thank you. Let me know if you update your dropbox with the redundant strms, I'll be sure to borrow some |
