DTS/DD5.1 (and not stereo) via TOSLink (and HDMI) I have been trying this and have been unsuccessful (using TOSlink as I don't have a HDMI receiver) to get DTS or DD to passthrough Have you been setting "dolby digital" on the fire tv settings for anything - does this matter ? Have you been setting the setting to "optical out" on the ouya build or doing something else? I tested the top three files you suggested, but all of them have stuttering issues (Monsters being the worst). I'm testing with 5.1 audio over HDMI. I'm reading videos over network from Samba. I also tested these videos on SMPC 12.3.3, 12.3.4, 12.4.1, 12.4.2, and I can't see a difference between the quality of each version (e.g. Monster video's audio isn't synced w/ stuttering video) RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - latino2166 - 2014-04-09 hello, how i add new repository for video add on Ortek MCE Remote - jocala - 2014-04-09 I got the Ortek MCE Remote mentioned earlier in this thread to replace my elderly 1st gen MCE IR/remote. It mostly works, but some submenu functions are missing. Does anyone have a working keymap? One problem at a time... Use only "Monster" as a test file. It's the most "standard". For the XBMC keymap I found: Quote:<!-- ORtek Vista MCE Remote Control VRC-1100 It kind of works, but some of the keyboard functions like Activate.Windows and context menu seem to be nonfunctional. I'm running the ouya build. RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - crackd - 2014-04-09 (2014-04-09, 22:02)Koying Wrote: Please do tests in plain stereo, no passthrough, both in the Fire and in XBMC. One problem at a time... Okay, just to confirm, I'm using Monsters downloaded from http://www.auby.no/files/video_tests/ When I play this on Fire TV with SMPC 12.3.3 using 2.0 stereo, the video cannot keep up with the audio. For others who have no problem with 12.3.3, does this Monsters file work okay for you? Note: I tried playing the Monsters file both over ethernet and from locally on Fire TV (/storage/emulated/legacy/). I also verified the Monsters file plays fine on an older Atom PC running Frodo XBMC over network. RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - jocala - 2014-04-09 (2014-04-09, 18:33)crackd Wrote: Regarding working USB keyboard/mice combos, I verified my IOGEAR (model GKM561R) works. Although Shift and Caplock didn't work when I was entering in my video directories to XBMC (Ouya 12.3.2); is this unique to my keyboard or a common issue w/ all USB keyboards? Do I simply need to map the keys? Shift and capslock are working for me with a logitech k400r and the terminal app. I'm running the ouya build. Edit: sorry, shift/capslock NOT working under XBMC, just the OS. RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - jtr2006 - 2014-04-09 New user here. Wanted to provide some quick feedback. I downloaded and ran a few short videos through the latest Koying build (xbmc-20140408-492e29a-master-armeabi-v7a.apk). Settings and results: (Wired network) libstagefright and MediaCodec enabled: some stuttering on SD video libstagefright only enabled: XBMC crashed on SD video MediaCodec only enabled: Excellent SD video, Very Good 720p video libstagefright and MediaCodec disabled: lots of stuttering / unwatchable Using just MediaCodec enabled, this build played videos better than any other build other the the two Ouya builds (SPMC 12.3.3 and XBMC for Ouya 12.3.2). Downloaded some video add-ons and all ran buttery smooth. Tested some 720p videos and they looked very good but not quite "perfect". Not sure what "vq" means in the video debug screen, but that was running around 88%. I will run the Monster test video and provide more details. This build is definitely on the right track. Maybe some users with more advanced understanding of XBMC can test this and provide more useful feedback than I can. RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - nickr - 2014-04-10 Sounds promising @jtr2006. How does it go passing through DTS, AC3, DTS-HD, etc? |
