RE: Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes (Jarvis / Krypton Fixed) [3.4.30 / 4.9.91-beta5] - gargon - 2016-11-24

Hi Guardian Hope,

I just decided to take the leap to your Danvers build with Kodi Krypton and, as expected, I am not disappointed! A very polished and visually stunning build. I have 4 questions though. I am not sure if they are skin related or Kodi related but, either way, I'll post them here as I am sure that one of you educated guys may know the answers Wink :

1. Whenever I used the Jarvis build, I had the 'suspend' option under the power menu which essentially put the Shield into sleep mode and I could press the home button on my remote to wake the box when necessary. A very important option to me. This option seems to have been removed and, looking through the skin settings options, I have found suspend but, wherever I put it in the menu, it just does not show on my actual home screen! It is just missing wherever I put it. Am I doing something wrong?

2. Under the audio options, it is not allowing me to change 'Audio output device = Android, RAW Passthrough' it is greyed out on 'Android, Audiotrack' and I cannot access it. Is this due to this being a preview build? I would have though that this was an important option to include. I have expert selected as the setting level as I always do btw. Am I doing something wrong or is this option not necessary now?

3. Whenever I hover my mouse arrow towards the top of the menu band that says 'movies' 'music''pictures' etc... on the main homescreen, the band expands, says 'spotlight' and has the name of the pictures in the folder I have selected to show the wallpapers from for that tab. No actual pictures show in the expanded band though, it remains blank. Is there a way I can disable this option so the band does not expand and just stays as it is?

4. Under my 'Movie's tab I had it set to show the background as the movie poster for any new movie I would add to my system (HDD movies folder) on startup after a silent scan. I think it was called 'recently added'. Honestly, I cannot remember exactly how I set that up Smile .I am guessing this option has been removed? I can't seem to see it anywhere. If anyone knows what I am talking about, please let me know.

Sorry for the long post guys but any help would be appreciated. Keep up the excellent work Guardian Hope and I look forward to your future builds.

Thanks in advance

I'm confused, unless I missed something. Where is Beta 6?

There's also nothing on the NortheBridge site? OSS is empty.

Currently being tested. As is the final Dormer update. The repo update gets released tonight/tomorrow. The 'big 2' updates may be released as late as December 3rd which is what happens when fiber optic lines are cut and your upload speeds go from a 940 megabytes per a second to ~7 kilobytes a second.

Both Danvers and Dormer are each ~130MB; this is where I say "do the math" on how long it would take to upload both Danvers and Dormer.

Besides, this is AZ:FA tradition: we like to call it the feature Release Later™ Laugh

Chances are, they won't be out until December 3rd while the repository update goes out tonight (much smaller upload and all changes can be done via OOB control to bypass the limited upload rate).

Thanks for the info Guardian. I thought I was going crazy and couldn't find the update.

7 kilobytes is a bit rough. But to be fair, I'm in Australia, and the best I ever get is 100 kilobytes upload.......

Is the update on Git or online anywhere? Want to use someone else as a relay to do your uploading/relocating? (Prob not me, but 100KBps is magnitudes faster than 7...

RE: Arctic Zephyr: From Ashes (Jarvis / Krypton Fixed) [3.4.30 / 4.9.91-beta5] - Synopis - 2016-11-26

Is there any possible way to get the main menu to look like this again? I know you can get the same lay out but for some reason with the new update (and a new kodi install)... the movie posters seem to go away whenever I go to movies. They didn't back in beta 4 or alpha 4.

anyone got problem with the duration script?
If I use alternative duration all movies have the same duration of the first one I get more information about, so all have for example 1h23min.
To "reset" the time I have to back out to the home menu and then go into movies again.

The version on Git for Danvers is behind and the version of Dormer is not even existent yet. I've started configuring an AZ:FA Build Server which should be up and running tomorrow with direct connections to to the Update Origin servers and the Anycast CDN with Gigabit out-of-band connectivity. The issue will be sustaining the RDP connection across the VPN tunnel to the remote location but RDP doesn't use a lot of bandwidth.

Should everything be configured tomorrow the release schedule is: NBD Repo 2.0 -> Dormer 3.4.60 -> Danvers BETA 6.

Likewise, some major services are being updated which is why the AZ:FA site isn't up and running yet. JIRA has to be integrated and the team given privileges for management. Unless you all don't mind a work in progress look in which case JIRA can be brought online probably this week.

That was a glitch from the original Alphas when we were making the updates for Krypton (so basically Danvers was Dormer just running on Krypton). I'm not entirely certain how we were able to do that but it is definitely something worth looking into; especially if it can pull the various hubs. As an option of course.

Unless it's some one code line I doubt it will be in Beta 6 however. I want the team to rest up and enjoy the holidays so the idea of Beta 6 is stability.

The Duration script hasn't ben used since Dormer but while it functions on Danvers we're trying to get rid of it because no other repositories have the script.

I'm guessing this is Dormer? I might need to find and pull the latest version of the script; I'm sure it's completely outdated and frankly I'm not even sure who authored it - it was just a part of AZ:E.

That's fine. I just don't really like the way it is now. The other way actually made it rather easy to pick a random movie or tv show.

Are you referring to the hubs?
THe override.xml in the shortcuts folder needs to be reverted back to a previous version. I got the hubs to work on the latest beta by using the following for addons/skin.arctic.zephyr.fromashes/shortcuts/overrides.xml and going to skin settings, edit home and reassigning the hubs to the relevant section, (tvhubs to tv,)

Hello,

First, thanks for your amazing work. I don't even imagine using another skin for kodi, yours just rocks !
I just have one little complain coming from dormer to danvers : I use playlists for my home widgets (to have unseen movies and shows on my home menu). It works great for movies but not for shows or Video addons. When I press "OK" on a show on the home menu, nothing happens. I think it is because it can't open folders from the home menu but it was working on dormer so it's a bit weird...

Thank you for your answer.

You've asked this question twice now when the answer is like 6 posts above yours stating that the newest updates are on hold until after thanksgiving weekend. December 3rd is the date.
