Metropolis 2.0.0 release candidates -- call for testers! - Lasborg - 2012-10-17 It seems that you are running a video that is not 16:9. With a 16:9 format the window is more obtrusive. It was for me when I used it the other day. And I simply think that it could be skinnier, as there is a lot of empty space in the box. Plus maybe higher in the screen. But I understand if you don't find that a change would fit with the general aesthetic of the skin. RE: Metropolis 2.0.0 release candidates -- call for testers! - vishek - 2012-10-18 I also feel that it should be vertically compact & may be aligned to top or bottom. RE: Metropolis 2.0.0 release candidates -- call for testers! - tuckbodi - 2012-10-18 Think I found an issue (or maybe it's me). Eden (and saw this on Frodo) and latest Metropolis 2.0. I have a Program Add-on called Rating Update for updating my IMDB 250 ratings (even my MySQL DB), which has a dialog box, which looks okay in Confluence but not Metropolis. Confluence Metropolis And as another example is SuperTV (supposed to show a listing of stations).. Just installed SuperTV and I see it here as well. My first instinct is to say it's likely a problem with the addon, but I'll see if I can figure out what's going on with it tomorrow. RE: Metropolis 2.0.0 release candidates -- call for testers! - protocol77 - 2012-10-19 Is there a way to add custom menu items I have a certain folder with a collection of videos I want to be able to go directly to via the main menu they are not tv shows or movies so cannot be scanned in I usually have to navigate to them via the file manager I know you can add them to favourites and then set a favourite submenu but would like to have underneath where movies and tv shows are without using submenu The only skins.i know of that can do this is aeon, transparency and mudislanders confluence mod Would really like to do it with metropolis as that is what I am using RE: Metropolis 2.0.0 release candidates -- call for testers! - jingai - 2012-10-19 (2012-10-19, 13:23)protocol77 Wrote: Is there a way to add custom menu items I have a certain folder with a collection of videos I want to be able to go directly to via the main menu they are not tv shows or movies so cannot be scanned in I usually have to navigate to them via the file manager This is currently the only way to do it -- as submenu items under Movies, TV Shows, and/or Videos. Ok, basically, SuperTV isn't going to work. In fact, it very likely is broken to various degrees in any skin besides Confluence. It needs specific code for each skin. The amount of maintenance that would be required to do this is beyond what I personally want (well, care) to do. Obviously, someone else could skin it and submit it to the SuperTV author, however. addons/SuperTV/resources/skins/DefaultSkin is where you want to look for the Confluence support. You'd need to make a new Metropolis directory with contents similar to that one, but modified for Metropolis, of course. I haven't played with the Rating Update thing, but I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that it probably also needs skin support. I guess I thought plugin authors followed some design rules so if it works in Confluence, it'll work everywhere else. I see there's a script_rating_update-main.xml file which controls its GUI, and I've been wanting to play around with the XML side anyways, so I'll take a stab at it. Not the end of the world, as I really don't use SuperTV that much, and I can run Rating Update from my media server in the basement from Confluence. Just was worried it was a GUI issue with Metropolis, and since Metropolis is one of the only skins out there which shows the IMDb rank tag, I thought others would be using Rating Update. Thanks for looking and if I figure it out I'll post back up! SuperTV is a bit more than I care to deal with, mostly because I won't personally use it. I've been putting a lot of time into Metropolis and the wife is starting to get a little upset about it, so I have to pick and choose what I do carefully now Rating Update however is probably simple enough to do quickly. I'll have a look at it, but I have other things I need to tend to this weekend so it may not be until later next week. Feel free to have a look over the skin stuff in the Rating Update addon. I suspect it's probably not a whole lot of code, so you may be able to figure it out. If you do, try to get it pushed upstream to the addon author. RE: Metropolis 2.0.0 release candidates -- call for testers! - jingai - 2012-10-19 FYI, Rating Update addon does indeed need skin support according to this post and the one after it. RE: Metropolis 2.0.0 release candidates -- call for testers! - jingai - 2012-10-28 2.0.0rc6 released. This will most likely be the last Release Candidate. RE: Metropolis 2.0.0 release candidates -- call for testers! - PatOso - 2012-10-28 Good news, great job. Will be in the official repo? RE: Metropolis 2.0.0 release candidates -- call for testers! - jingai - 2012-11-02 2.0.0 will be tagged and readied for release this weekend if we don't hear any major complaints. Just FYI RE: Metropolis 2.0.0 release candidates -- call for testers! - protocol77 - 2012-11-02 is it possible to implement a get artwork feature similar to the ones in Aeon nox where it will let you choose from a list of different banners or logos to use i think it ties in with artwork downloader but with the added benefit of if you don't like the banner or logo that gets chosen for you you can change it to a different design from inside xbmc |
