Really hope that is the missing piece to get it working Smile

Stop ignoring the fact that most of our main devs are grown people with real life and family and kids and so on and have some more important things in live then XBMC.

Still iit's a basic function that a mediacenter should support and is important for many people.
I guess tihs is hard to understand for german people that dub everything.
Workaround is to use vtuner to create virtual tuners and using tvheadend but that only works for live tv and not for recorded files.
For that it must be fixed in normal player for XBMC like the rest of subtitles.

Teletext has worked in other players that is using ffmpeg libs for many years now.
IIt's support in XBMC mediaplayer that is needed.

RE: Teletext Subtitles - negge - 2013-09-29

I recently tried demuxing a .ts file with teletext subtitles using ProjectX but it wasn't able to determine the timecodes for the subs so they were essentially useless. I think this is a common thing with teletext subtitles - they work fine live but something goes missing when it is recorded. I admit I don't know much about teletext in general, especially subtitles.

No problem to watch recorded ts files in other players and on the box itself here and when i tried ProjectX earlier sometime i had no problem there either.
But with 2sub plugin for enigma2 boxes you needed to delay subtitles for a few seconds otherwise it's same result as tuxtxt teletext plugin that xbmc uses. Nowadays enigma2's own internal subtitles works good enough and doesn't need that hack.
VLC for example have no problem with this either.

And in Gotham subtitles from Tvheadend live-tv is also broken (recordings works) and has been so for along time so i hope subtitles still is being focused on.

RE: Teletext Subtitles - KkkkkkTzs - 2014-01-13

Any fixes? No subtitles in 12.3 (Frodo) at 50% of my channels. Teletext "V690" give uggly and wrong synced text.

RE: Teletext Subtitles - negge - 2014-01-13

@KkkkkkTzs what backend do you use?

Argus TV. Subtitles problem with XBMC 12.3 or earlier.

RE: Teletext Subtitles - negge - 2014-01-13

Are you sure Argus supports teletext? You'd still have to toggle teletext mode and browse to the correct page, if I'm not completely mistaken.

RE: Teletext Subtitles - KkkkkkTzs - 2014-01-14

As many before in this topic, perhaps only Nordic countries, a lot of channels has subtitles in teletext. For example I can press "V690" for Swedish text. But it's ugly and about 5 seconds wrong synced. It's also bad for swapping between channels if I must go to teletext "V".

VLC can play same ts-file (recorded by Argus) and subtitles is correct synced and can also pop up automatic. Yes, Argus saves teletext in a ts-file with video and some audio-channels in it to.

Hi!

This is something I also would like to see!

Until then I'm extracting teletext to .srt-files from my recordings with CCExtractor - http://ccextractor.sourceforge.net/
Its very easy to use and works very good!

RE: Teletext Subtitles - opdenkamp - 2014-01-30

both vdr and tvheadend don't have any problem with teletext subtitles using current master/gotham. must be something with the add-ons without a demuxer really.

RE: Teletext Subtitles - Jönke - 2014-01-30

Almost true ! Xbmc (Gotham) not Frodo sometimes fails to show the subttitle
