Like "There is a recording going, what would you like to do? a) play recording from beginning b) play recording from now c) tune channel"?indeed, same as we do for movies RE: Improving some stuff for live tv section - Jönke - 2014-02-07 (2014-01-03, 03:13)Jönke Wrote: How about enable contex meny in this meny view ? @xhaggi & opdenkamp any thoughts on this ? A typical use case in my household is someone browses the epg, finds a tv show (say Eastenders!) then marks it to be series recorded. Then once it's recorded it becomes available in the recorded section (similar to xbmc). Any one in my family looking for say yesterday's Eastenders would look directly in the recorded shows tab. I still think the use case you describe is of extremely limited use. If we go back to my use case above..with only 24 hrs approx of past epg data I could play Eastenders if I decided to watch it within 24 hours of it being recorded. The older ones I would still need to go to the recorded tab for. Saying all this it's an additional feature and I guess some people will use it, but as you can tell from the queries on this thread..not everyone wants or would use such a feature. For that reason please consider making this optional after Gotham. RE: Improving some stuff for live tv section - negge - 2014-02-08 That scenario (going back over a day to find a recording) does indeed not make sense, but past EPG data is useful e.g. when you open the timeline to see if e.g. skiing World Cup is on, and when you don't see it you scroll back a few clicks and see that "crap, I missed it". I think it makes no sense to me to add the context menu in an OSD dialog. RE: Improving some stuff for live tv section - Jönke - 2014-02-08 Ok but i dont understand why, you can allready use the meny to record and get info but not find a similar show. Raspberry pi would really benefit, because open this meny is faster then open timelineview. I have mapped it to -> on my mce remote and it is way faster. RE: Improving some stuff for live tv section - xhaggi - 2014-02-09 IMO we should add this action to the guide info dialog instead of a context menu. RE: Improving some stuff for live tv section - opdenkamp - 2014-02-10 not sure, context menu may be wiser because of the client specific context menu items that you can't map anyway RE: Improving some stuff for live tv section - xhaggi - 2014-02-10 do we really need the context menu on the channel guide osd? .. IMO this should be accessed from an underlying window or do we have context menu on other osd's? But i like the idea to trigger find similar programme in guide info dialog, because this makes sense as you can trigger timer/record etc. here too. RE: Improving some stuff for live tv section - opdenkamp - 2014-02-10 Well you add one extra action that a user must perform to access the same thing. Context menu makes more sense I think, since we already got the code for it, and we access the functionality like that in the other epg windows too. RE: Improving some stuff for live tv section - xhaggi - 2014-02-10 i think we need this action on guide info osd, because of the less button remotes, which do not hold a context menu button. anyway i don't like the idea of having a context menu on an osd window, which is only visible/accessible in fullscreen view. RE: Improving some stuff for live tv section - scarecrow420 - 2014-02-10 even on a full harmony remote, i have context menu mapped to the GUIDE button (what do others use?) which would present difficulties in accessing the context menu when actually IN the guide screen (since guide toggles the channel guide on/off!). What button mapping do others use for context menu? RE: Improving some stuff for live tv section - Jönke - 2014-02-11 Dvdmeny button ! Here you have some nice mappings for pvr use. http://openelec.tv/forum/103-infared-remotes/49858-optimize-remote-mappings-for-users RE: Improving some stuff for live tv section - unknown_owner - 2014-02-11 (2014-02-10, 12:49)opdenkamp Wrote: Well you add one extra action that a user must perform to access the same thing. You mention having the code for something would make more sense to adding an option. I wanted to know if this would also apply to being able to input a channel number when in the epg guide to have the guide jump to that channel? It would just jump to the guide channel not necessarily switch to view that channel. The reason I ask this is because when viewing live tv now, we can switch channels by just inputting the channel number. I believe a switch to channel window pops up when you hit the first number. Could that be incorporated to the epg and possibly the live tv channel list? I would think that since the already exist for the fullscreen live tv, that it could be used in the other sections. I'm not aware though of any limitations to doing these, so my apologizes if there are. I understand that groups can be created to minimize the number of channel downs button presses someone could do, but being able to actually jump to the channel would reduce the number of button presses and be more direct. RE: Improving some stuff for live tv section - Jönke - 2014-02-12 @xhaggi may i suggest to you, to do some improvment to that big uggly window that pops up right in you face when you change channel with numbers in fullscreen live tv? It's not very sexy ? |
