You can add them where ever you like. CV allows you to customize the order of any module so your countdown can come right before the feature, or before the audio bumpers, or at the very beginning. It all depends on what you want to see.

Trying to remember how it is in the theaters.

I don't think I've ever seen a short film or countdown in a theater outside of an IMAX specific bumper or a cartoon short before the main feature of an animated film.

Geez for Star Wars I had to sit through over 10 minutes of horrible commercials before they played only 3 trailers then another long theater bumper and then the film . They don't even show audio bumpers anymore.

The add-on is near perfect for me. Trailers in sub-directories do not play. A trailer that is not in a sub-directory will though. If this is a known bug still , sorry. I think I asked about this feature awhile ago, and I think the reply was that the addon will be able to run trailers that are stored in "trailer-name" sub-directories?

Thanks!

Great to hear! I've reported this to our developer. The only directory that doesn't scan beyond one level deep is Trivia Slides, or it should be. Smile I'll make sure that's the case, and get back to you if he tells me it's not. In the meantime, post up a log for us to review, just in case.

-----

Sorry, I meant to say that if I put a trailer.mov file at the root of trailers folder, it plays fine. It would be great if CV would scrape into sub-directories past the trailers directory as well. I have all my trailers downloaded into directories named after the trailer please.
----------------

Hi,

Trailers still only work if in the root of the trailers folder. Can you please have the dev allow subdirectories in the trailers folder?

Honestly, I'm not real sure. I posted earlier the full extent of my knowledge about unRAID is. Big Grin One way to tell if unRAID is the culprit is to try running from a local directory to see if you have the same issues. Are folks on the unRAID forum helpful at all?

In order to do so I run the following:
start /B "startmovie" "c:\Batch\startmovie.cmd"

This works in windows if I double clickthe command file, but when I run in cinemavision I get an error that it cannot find the file and it show the file path as c:\\Batch\\startmovie.cmd

It is adding additional \
Is this a bug or is something I am doing?

I can run the command without the start /B but then Kodi gets pushed to the background and the commandline pops up.

It's hard to tell without a log. Can I talk you into posting one where you try to run that CMD file from an action? The additional \'s are normal for Python, and it should output "c:\Batch\startmovie.cmd" from that. Post up a log and the code in your action file as well, just in case.

Every theater I've been to does it differently. The one near my house that I usually go to does some trivia, then a short film, then some trivia and a commercial, rinse and repeat till trailers.

Hey bushhy! You're talking about the %CVROOT%\Trailers directory, right? We enabled recursive scanning on that directory, but we've never enabled it for specified directories. As long as you're using the %CVROOT%\Trailers directory, it should be scraping in all of the subdirectories as well. If it's not, can I get you to post up a log for us to review? You might also need to run a Content Update to make sure the new trailers are getting scraped in. That won't be automated until we release the CinemaVision Service add-on.

Make sure that you have the trailer source set to Content and the scraper set to CV Trailers.

You might have to be the one to do it. Wink I found the unRAID 6 documentation and it's got some instructions for adding users and setting up user level security.

There really is no need for a how to. Unraid is very simple.

Just start over. Delete everything. And then create a new share (can be a cache only share). Set the share to public. In that share, create a folder for CV

In kodi, add that share as a source (through smb). In CV settings select that folder

Did you also remove the cv addon and its addon data folder before starting over?

What share/folder are you using as the cv folder on unraid?

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - mysteron09 - 2015-12-24

Pro tip - I tried to update content and it was throwing an error. The problem was that one of the music files had an extended ASCII character in its name (an accented e) and the update content feature only likes 7 bit characters. Renamed it and problem solved, but the dev team might want to check that.

Can I talk you into posting a log with the error happening? I want to be sure we nail it so it's not just a shot in the dark.

Sure - give me a day or two and I'll rename the file back to the extended character name. I did check the log when it first happened, and there was some function erroring out checking the characters in the file name - I should've copied it but the answer was obvious, even for this ancient C++ guy Big Grin

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - rmilyard - 2015-12-30

Is the website down? Getting a 404 error or just blank page.

Excellent! I'm sure it's the last of these changes we'll need to make, but it's always good to be sure that's the only error you've got in your log. Smile Sometimes, our developer just sees things that could potentially be an issue that don't actually error.

Apparently it is. It looks like it's struggling to come back up, and it's affecting all of our sister sites too. We're looking into it now.
