RE: Confluence ZEITGEIST (Kodi 17-22) - axbmcuser - 2024-11-07 @Thomas_AR Just released 6.7.44 with some most likely final changes for the trailer search stuff (as previously announced). Maybe have a final look, re-change your settings - if even necessary - and we should be done for now in that regard. I also added some minor improvements for the "Android apps" section i have barely ever used during testing while pushing a minor update to the skin related helper add-on "Cinema Helper". The "Android apps" section now has a better header and should look and feel better when used. Also the main menu entry now has the correct string "Android apps" (before: "Android"). Maybe not of big use to you, but while we were at improving some Android related stuff i thought these improvements could not hurt. Quote:I will check out the "Vídeo Skip Steps" function. Was aware of this. Is this a typo? :-) Did you mean "Was NOT aware of this"? I made some touchscreen tests and when viewing fullscreen video _without_ having the OSD open (meaning: play/pause/etc buttons not being visible), using swipe left/right seems to work quite well. Kodi default keymaps are not ideal and should be improved to also make this exact swipe gestures possible when the OSD is open, so the L/R swipe gesture always works when viewing fullscreen video, despite the state of the player OSD being open/closed. That being said, happy to evaluate the idea of further changes/additions in regards to 10 second skipping. I'll try to check if Kodi even support a double-tap for touchscreens. Or are you aware that it does? You might have more experience in touch screen usage with Kodi. :-) Quote:Have you seen this? I had a first look but did not install it yet to fully test and understand the concept. Not sure if Confluence ZEITGEIST could benefit from this, since it seems to be a replacement for the official Kodi YT App which might not be what everyone wants. But i will have to see when looking more into it. :-) Thanks for the info on this. RE: Confluence ZEITGEIST (Kodi 17-22) - Thomas_AR - 2024-11-07 @axmbcuser Was a typo... Will later answer in detail. RE: Confluence ZEITGEIST (Kodi 17-22) - axbmcuser - 2024-11-07 @Thomas_AR Good to know & makes sense. : D Sure. No hurries. RE: Confluence ZEITGEIST (Kodi 17-22) - axbmcuser - 2024-11-08 @todo Checking in again in response to your previous post. :-) Let me know when you're back to possibly discuss the teased topics. RE: Confluence ZEITGEIST (Kodi 17-22) - Thomas_AR - 2024-11-08 @axbmcuser Back again. Regarding this YouTube replacement for viewing.... I also don't think that it's a good idea for the normal user as it replaces the standard YouTube addon. May be a better solution would be in Android to pass the search request to the native YouTube Androidapp. Just thinking out loud. I am happy with the browser solution you provided. I don't use it very often. Double click to jump forward or backwards 10 seconds.... I honestly don't know if Kodi has this implemented. It's one of the reasons why I still jump between “Nova Video Player" and Kodi on my Android cellphone and tablet. Much easier handling in general with Nova on small devices. On my other device's I use Librelec, Kodi rules in its native form. :^) RE: Confluence ZEITGEIST (Kodi 17-22) - axbmcuser - 2024-11-08 @Thomas_AR Quote:Regarding this YouTube replacement for viewing....Never thought about passing the search query to the native Android app yet. I'll put it on my list to verify this variant. Quote:I honestly don't know if Kodi has this implemented.Oh okay. Yeah, i thought you might have already noticed that there are any other double-click-gestures which would have proven that it has to be possible. :-) So we will have to assume there is no double-tap-gestures support. I'll still verify myself at some point. As far as my experience goes, on todays touch devices and good player design, quick-skip +- X-seconds gestures are almost always realized using one of these two concepts: - left/right player half double tap or - swipe left/right on the player Both seem common and valid in their concept. Mostly using players which have the double-tap variant causes getting used to this variant which will then cause the other player - which is using the other variant - to stick out. :-) I'm almost surprised that "mini-display-touch-usage" even works as okay-ish as it does at the moment. :-) What model is the Android tablet? Interested in the exact aspect ratio/resolution. Could check for myself of course if i would know the model. RE: Confluence ZEITGEIST (Kodi 17-22) - axbmcuser - 2024-11-09 @ all @todo @KillroyWasHere @DrPepper Would anyone be interested in trying out a beta version of the in-progress cinemascope variant of Confluence ZEITGEIST anytime soon? I resumed work on it today but not really sure if i should continue or pause work on that feature again. There are many alternative topics i could work on, therefore another quick check-in.
