The buffering dialog is an element on the fullscreen video window, and not a separate dialog. I don't think we can suppress it, but we can delay it - that would be up to the skinners to include and would affect everything, not just CinemaVision.

I've done some digging on this, and the dialog I'm seeing is the paused dialog. I don't know why Kodi is throwing up this dialog in the skin when switching between video segments during playback. I have been trying to track down which skin xml defines this, but have little success so far. This does not happen when playing videos in a playlist; only when using CV. I have tried CV on 2 different platforms, Windows 10 and Unbuntu, each with the same result. I have asked over in the aeon mq6 forum, but no suggestions other than adjusting cache settings. Any ideas on what else to try, and am I the only one that has encountered this?

Do you have KODI set up to enable refresh rate switching and to pause during changes?

Those are set to off.

Thanks for the kind words! A lot of people are working hard to make all of this work, and every one of them appreciates feedback like this. Our developer is a wizard, so all credit for how well the add-on works goes to him. Big Grin

Scott, this is an excellent addon. Thanks to all who contributed.

One question, though.

If I'm only using itunes as the trailers source, should I be doing the content updates in the settings or does the addon already update the itunes trailer list when it is started? (I believe the older cinema experience addon updated the list of trailers every time it was run)

Thanks

We're really glad you all like it!

Cinema Experience didn't update every time it was run, but instead pulled down a random trailer that met requirements like genre and rating. We knew early on that we wanted to offer people the ability to totally customize everything, and the best way to do that is to have a local database that populates with all of the available content. Setting the add-on up that way allowed us to build on a stable and fully customizable foundation, so we chose to go forward with coding it that way. We're also indexing every bit of possible content from online scrapers and the %CVROOT% directories, which isn't something Cinema Experience had the ability to do.

We don't (yet) pull in trailers from any source on a schedule. One of the requirements for being in repository now is that those things belong in a Service Add-on, so we didn't include automatic updates and a few other things in the main add-on. We have most of the CinemaVision Service Add-on mapped out, but haven't yet started development on it. That said, you do currently have to do content updates in order to pull in new content. You can either do this manually in settings, or have the add-on do a content update when the Sequence Editor is loaded. The latter does require you to open the Sequence Editor every so often in order to kick off the content update.

I see. I guess the service would take care of regular updates. Until then, I'll do manual updates every once in a while.

Thanks

Sounds good. The Service Add-on is really high up on our list and we've planned a ton of new functionality like movie scheduling, content updates and more. We'll likely start working on the code when our developer gets back from the conferences Kodi is going to.

There is an option in MQ6

How can I delete cinema vision sequence that I don't need anymore?

There are several skins with support for this. MQ6, Arctic: Zephyr, and several others. CinemaVision doesn't currently have this feature.

All of your Sequences can be found in %CVROOT%\Sequences. %CVROOT% is the content directory you set. You can either manually delete the files using your file explorer, or from within Kodi's File Manager if you have granted the ability to delete files.

Thank you very much!

Usually visitors get tired to watch trailers and short films and they want to start movie as soon as they have their pop corns ready. If this is not possible, could it be implemented in the future?

edit2. and now that I'm on fire I would like to add one more feature request if this is not already possible: if I have two short films in my sequence, is it possible to make sure that those two short films are different? I was testing cinema vision and noticed that one time a certain short film was shown twice.

Any news about these two features?

I'm very pleased to see that version 1.0.8 supports external player! This is very nice since now I can watch 3d blu-ray iso files with power dvd and have real 3d mvc playback that kodi cannot handle atm.

Edit: is it possible to delete default 2d and 3d sequences as well? I tried to delete them from \Kodi\addons\script.cinemavision\resources but after deleting the addon refused to function anymore.

Actions triggered by a keypress have to be in the CinemaVision Service add-on, I think. Kodi doesn't like us modifying files from the program add-on, but with the service add-on we can monitor and override things. Technically, you can do it right now but you'd have to set it manually and then use the information on the first page of this thread to pass the information when you press that key.

So for the short films, that's already there. It doesn't currently do it from module to module (that feature is coming with the Service Add-on), but if you only have one module in your sequence where the Type is set to Short Film, and set the Count of that module to 2, it wont play the same video twice in a row.

Glad you like the new features! You can't, or rather you shouldn't, delete the default 2D and 3D sequence. If there's a problem with your sequence, CinemaVision needs something to fall back to. You can ignore them, though.
