I am not seeing the same behavior as you. My Rotten Tomatoes info displays as soon as I open the Video Info screen. What version of Skin Helper are you using?

Glad you like it! Let me take a look at that view and I'll see about making the shadow appear only when the top panel is displayed.

Doh...you're right. I must have been making changes to the Omega version of the custom file and never reverted back. It will be fixed in the next update. Thanks for letting me know!

UPDATE #33 - This will update the skin to v1.3.4
Additions- I added code to support the vertical Main Menu. There is a new button in SKIN SETTINGS ► MAIN MENU named "MAIN MENU STYLE". Switching between "HORIZONTAL" and "VERTICAL" will run a script that overwrites MainMenu.xml and refreshes the skin. When in vertical mode, the "WIDGETS - ITEMS EXHIBITED AT THE SAME TIME" button will be disabled and your video widgets will only display 6 items. Also in vertical mode, your Weather widgets will be disabled and you will only see a six day forecast. Right now there are only two main menu options available in vertical mode, and the font is the only thing in the preview that will change. I will add more as I have time.
Bug fixes- The default background image was not displaying for the Main Menu or Movies if "ENABLE LITEBOX EFFECTS" was enabled in the Top Menu.
- The addon icon was being displayed both with and without a case for add-ons in View Type-07. Thanks to Shredder_guitar for reporting the bug!
*This update will require another skin reset for new settings to be forced to settings.xml. To keep from losing your current settings, make sure you export your skin settings (SKIN SETTINGS > RESTORE SETTINGS > EXPORT SKIN SETTINGS) before you install the update. After installing the update you will need to reset the skin and then import the latest settings export.

@latts9923 Two things with the new update. When in Horizontal menu mode the time/date is at bottom right and repeated upper left and right. I switched to Vertical mode but then was just on a blank screen with time and date and nothing else and no way to revert. For now I’ll grab my backup and switch back to the previous version…and turn off auto update…😉

Before the update I backed up the skin, after updating to version 1.3.4 it no longer shows me the main menu items.
In this situation I am stuck, am I doing something wrong?

Hmm...I tested this vertical menu a few times with a reset and everything was fine on my end. Can one of you try this with the new version...copy the contents of MainMenu.xml.horizontal to MainMenu.xml, then open your settings.xml file and make sure you have "<setting id="mainmenu_style" type="string">horizontal</setting>" entered as a setting. Now open Kodi and reset the skin.

I copied the contents of MainMenu.xml.horizontal to MainMenu.xml, opened the settings.xml file with the “Search with my text editor” function, I could not find “ <setting id=”mainmenu_style“ type=” string">horizontal</setting>

@latts9923 Busy day today so won't have time to test till later this afternoon. One thing from the release notes has me wondering - "Right now there are only two main menu options available in vertical mode" - I have many main menu items hidden so maybe I'm getting the blank screen due to that? Which two? If I have them both hidden then that would explain the blank screen but then unfortunately, as I mentioned, at that point I have no way to recover (Settings should be one of the two to allow recovery).

I ran the test again and went to the correct path.
“userdata\addon_data\skin.aeonmq9.mod\settings.xml” but I couldn't find the line
<setting id="mainmenu_style" type="string">horizontal</setting>

Let me just say that my experience doesn't offer any solutions, only to point out that I had the same issue with the horizontal menu bar today.
My vertical menu was gone when I opened Kodi on my shield. I have custom backgrounds for each area of interest so I was able to find the settings area with ease and this opened as normal when selected.
I created a new skin settings export and reset the skin to default and following that was able to confirm that my menu bar was back. I then restored my previously exported settings and unfortunately the menu bar was gone again.
Luckily I have a few backups of my skins settings to repeated the process of resetting and importing from another backup and this worked without issue with v1.3.4.

Folks...sorry for the problems with the latest update. I made sure and test this multiple times under different scenarios to verify it was good. We'll get it sorted out.

OK...try adding that line to settings.xml and open Kodi. You should see the horizontal menu bar. If so, you should then be able to switch to the vertical menu bar.

Have fresh installed both and no resolution. Other skins are not affected.

It looks like the steps I posted here worked in the Nexus version of MQ 9 to restore the menu bar. Can you try this and post your results?

I performed a skin reset after the update 1.3.4 and redid all the settings new by hand, this worked.
