how are you testing? playing back the test file linked from the bug report, it no longer freezes for ~5s at the midpoint of the clip

After each reboot, I get this once at quite start of the video but after that, never again, untill after next reboot.

unfortunately, that's not really helpful information. You need to provide a description of the issue, XBMC acceleration settings, a sample clip, and logs -- just like I did in the bug report. Otherwise, no way to know if the issue you are having is the same bug as the one believed to be fixed, one already reported but not fixed, or a new one altogether

is it a stall or a freeze? Like a drive spinning up or what kind of media are you talking about when you see this?

Followed the guide and it worked like a charm. Installed and running with no issues at all. Only problem is my IR receiver doesn't work. It's an HP 5070-2584. Just going to buy the FLIRC like I should have to start with.

The Image freezes for ~5s, Audio runs normaly, then Image goes fast Forward to the Audio and that's it.
I'm watching band of brothers and in all Parts shown this.

pretty sure that one has the same issue as the Topseed manufactured ones I mention in the wiki. If you're not going to use it, feel free to send it my way and I'll figure out a fix.

Hmm... That's the one you told people you were using. I also have one on the way. I was originally going to go with the Flirc as well. Confused

I linked to the wrong one, and I apologize to anyone who bought a non-working MCE IR receiver based on my link. I've corrected the link to a known working model, and added a note to the wiki for the non-working model number.

And as I've posted before, if someone sends me one of these non-working MCE receivers, I'll gladly come up with a fix/workaround. I've identified the problem from logs that have been provided, it's just a lot easier to test/debug with the hardware in hand.

If people are in the UK and looking for an RC6 IR remote and receiver that will definitely work with the Chromebox, Raspberry Pi and pretty much any other OpenElec (and LIRC-based) install then Maplin do this one : http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/windows-media-centre-remote-control-a49ha

I've used it on a number of installs. It's not cheap as chips, but it does work. The remote control is entirely average (I've had one fail after a couple of years use), but the little USB IR dongle works very well (and will work with One4Alls etc.).

Well, if boomhower doesn't take you up on it, I guess I will. By the way, if you're editing your posts there are a few more to change. link

I'm more than willing to help you out, least I can do with the work you've put into this. I'm likely going to build another system for the bedroom so will reuse it at some point if you don't mind sending it back when your finished with it.(and it'll work!) Shoot me a PM with your mailing address and I'll get it on the way.
