On the last build I had installed a few months ago it did not have the option any more but it did stop playing when you hit the back button. RE: RetroPlayer Test Builds (updated for Isengard) - Stormageddon - 2016-03-11 doesn't compile. ok, so I got everthing compiled including addons. However when I try to run a rom, i get an error stating "Addon couldn't be loaded. An unknown error has occurred. Cant load dll." What could I have done wrong? RE: RetroPlayer Test Builds (updated for Isengard) - sdsnyr94 - 2016-03-16 I picked up one of the 314 GB Pi drives the other day to go with my RPi2, with the primary purpose of using it for an emulation machine. I was originally thinking about RetroPie, but figured I would take a look at this first. My primary concern is NES games, as those are the ones that would be played about 99% of the time in my house. As of the current builds on the first post, any major issues? This will not be used for any other media.. that's what my Wetek Core is for. RE: RetroPlayer Test Builds (updated for Isengard) - Copeyboy - 2016-03-19 Shouldn't be a problem with NES games. I use a 2TB external drive for my emulation and it all works fine. RE: RetroPlayer Test Builds (updated for Isengard) - EMK0 - 2016-03-20 so most cores don't support loading from network what i found works on Openelec at least is to mount a network location then the cores think its a local file and they load. I just followed this guide http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php/Mounting_network_shares hopefully in the future Kodi can launch the games from network shares as thats what Kodi does best for all the other media it supports. RE: RetroPlayer Test Builds (updated for Isengard) - garbear - 2016-03-21 You can see which libretro cores support loading from network drives in the libretro core matrix ("Supports VFS"). Unfortunately, adding vfs support is a labour-intensive process that needs to be repeated for each core. Before this happens, we should identify which cores work the best so the effort isn't wasted on the others. RE: RetroPlayer Test Builds (updated for Isengard) - sisero - 2016-03-21 Hi, I installed this version of RetroPlayer/OpenELEC: OpenELEC-RPi2.arm-6.0-retroplayer-20160304094500-r21909-gc5fa697 on my Raspberry Pi 3, and everything booted fine, but when I try to launch Mario Kart 64 on the mupen64plus emulator, everything crashes. I'm not sure what's wrong. Here is my kodi.log http://pastebin.com/Evv9jU2H I hope someone can point me in the right direction as to what I'm doing wrong. Edit: I've now tried a couple of emulators, including SNES and PS1. With SNES, Kodi crashes similarly to with n64. With the PS-emulator I get a jagged green screen where you barely can make out whats on the screen, and I cant control anything. This is the end of the log when I try opening Mario kart 64 13:27:20 193.116196 T:1779147840 DEBUG: ADDON: cpluff: 'Not all directories were successfully scanned.' 13:27:20 193.158539 T:1779147840 DEBUG: GameManager: tracking 60 extensions 13:27:20 193.200928 T:1855726656 INFO: AddOnLog: Joystick Support: CJoystickInterfaceLinux::Initialize: opening joystick /dev/input/js0 13:27:22 194.311081 T:1967468544 NOTICE: Avoiding joystick as normal input device - /dev/input/event2 13:27:25 198.214691 T:1855726656 INFO: AddOnLog: Joystick Support: CJoystickInterfaceLinux::Initialize: opening joystick /dev/input/js0 13:27:32 204.311783 T:1967468544 INFO: Previous line repeats 1 times. 13:27:32 204.311966 T:1967468544 NOTICE: Avoiding joystick as normal input device - /dev/input/event2 13:27:35 208.241135 T:1855726656 INFO: AddOnLog: Joystick Support: CJoystickInterfaceLinux::Initialize: opening joystick /dev/input/js0 13:27:41 213.395813 T:1967468544 INFO: Previous line repeats 1 times. 13:27:41 213.395935 T:1967468544 DEBUG: SECTION:UnloadDelayed(DLL: special://xbmcbin/system/ImageLib-arm.so) 13:27:41 213.396042 T:1967468544 DEBUG: Unloading: /ImageLib-arm.so 13:27:42 214.312531 T:1967468544 NOTICE: Avoiding joystick as normal input device - /dev/input/event2 13:27:42 214.530502 T:1758458944 DEBUG: Thread JobWorker 1758458944 terminating (autodelete) 13:27:42 214.530655 T:1632629824 DEBUG: Thread JobWorker 1632629824 terminating (autodelete) 13:27:43 215.462677 T:1967468544 INFO: CheckIdle - Closing session to http://feeds.openelec.tv (easy=0x74156438, multi=0x7415ece8) 13:27:43 215.979355 T:1967468544 INFO: CheckIdle - Closing session to https://retroplayer.freestylephenoms.com (easy=0x69500308, multi=0x6f47c2d0) 13:27:43 215.986069 T:1967468544 INFO: CheckIdle - Closing session to http://feeds.xbmc.org (easy=0x74161f18, multi=0x741f5850) RE: RetroPlayer Test Builds (updated for Isengard) - EMK0 - 2016-03-21 (2016-03-21, 07:24)garbear Wrote: You can see which libretro cores support loading from network drives in the libretro core matrix ("Supports VFS"). Unfortunately, adding vfs support is a labour-intensive process that needs to be repeated for each core. Before this happens, we should identify which cores work the best so the effort isn't wasted on the others. Oh so you want to make the most used cores work with network drives first? Another thing most cores don't support zip/7z i know we could run uncompressed but it just saves so much space having the files compressed, instead could we get compression support into retroplayer instead of the cores? so if we do run them compressed retroplayer can extract them in a temp folder for playing? i know this might make some games take longer to load but it would be up to the user if they can accept the loading time. "3.2.2 Video player XBMC/Kodi uses a video-player 'core' for video-playback called "DVDPlayer". This in-house developed cross-platform media player was originally designed to play back DVD-Video movies, and this includes support native for DVD-menus, (based on the free open source libraries code libdvdcss and libdvdnav). DVDPlayer is based on FFmpeg and today supports all widespread mainstream formats. One relatively unusual feature of this DVD-player core is the capability to on-the-fly pause and play DVD-Video movies that are stored in ISO and IMG DVD-images or DVD-Video (IFO/VOB/BUP) images (even directly from uncompressed RAR and ZIP archives), from either local harddrive storage or network-share storage." Looks like Kodi does support RAR/ZIP i wonder if it also works with 7z would this make it easier to implement something like that? anyways amazing work hopefully some more devs get involved and help you out RetroPlayer Test Builds (updated for Isengard) - lrusak - 2016-03-21 (2016-03-21, 13:41)sisero Wrote: Hi, Not possible at the moment. VFS stands for "virtual filesystem", and is how Kodi loads anything not directly a file on the hard drive. This means network drives, and is also how Kodi is able to load files from inside zips. So cores with VFS support can load from zips, whereas those without cannot. You've touched on a good idea. Caching VFS files on a local drive means that all cores can load from the VFS, even without VFS support. This also means that Kodi could generate a ROM library by caching files from a web server (like internet archive). This is definitely something to look into. RE: RetroPlayer Test Builds (updated for Isengard) - hackbird - 2016-03-23 Hello, maybe a stupid question but how can i install latest generic build? When i download i didnĀ“t get an image file i get folders. Hope someone can help me? THX hackbird RE: RetroPlayer Test Builds (updated for Isengard) - DocMAX - 2016-03-30 How can i set default behavior of .zip files to 'browse into"? Currently when running a .zip RetroPlayer freezes. |
