Change the item limit on the widget in the "Customize home menu" dialog.

RE: Arctic Horizon - FXB78 - 2020-04-11

I have a bit of an unusual one which I'm convinced used to work at some point, I think it could be more of a tmdbhelper issue than a skin issue.

When using the Composite Plex addon the information screen doesn't show Actor images, it just shows the default placeholder. However going through TMDB Helper the Actor image is shown.

Is this a recent thing or do you think it's always been that way (or did I break something Smile )?

For Composite to display Actor images, you need edit your movie source and select The Movies Database as the info provider (local only might not work); then re-scan for new content

Hi JM,

In landscape view there are labels under it (title and genre).

Can we have the same for posters view please (perhaps as an option to disable) but then with release year rather then genre. I really miss this information as I need to go everytime into video info.

I would really appreciate it if you would consider this to implement.

Thanks

There wouldn't be room at the bottom of the widget for those labels to be shown, as posters take up the entire height of the widget.

Thanks in advance

Its planned. Just a few spots where the addition of gradients make it a little trickier than in AZ2.

Surely the poster shows the title already... And as drinfernoo said, there is no space because poster already takes up the entire widget height. Plus really I'm trying to minimise the amount of additional text on screen where possible.

RE: Arctic Horizon - tinnyskillz - 2020-04-12

Hey @jurialmunkey I was wondering. Would you consider making the home screen (on the right side, not the home bar\menu on the left) haves no overlay, but instead, use the full screen widget showcase shadow look as a replacement (so plot is readable)?

Basically, full screen widget showcase with the "play", and "show information" buttons. But if you go down to the other widgets that are set up. The "play", and "show information" buttons go away, and whatever media is highlighted in the widget below is shown on the full screen widget above.

Sorry if i i sound confusing.

I've already tried this sort of thing. It doesn't work. As soon as you have any background that is light or has any sort of detail in it, then it becomes extremely difficult to read the text. The only way this sort of thing is possible is if I had more control over the types of fanart used e.g. if I could specify to use fanart where most of the detail is aligned to the right of screen, then it could work - but with the variability of fanart, it just simply does not work.

Fanart with bright details makes text unreadable:

Even with darker artwork, if there is any variability you lose text

The showcase hub overlay works because the majority of the screen does not have text, so only a small corner needs to be dimmed. For that sort of effect to work with the standard library views where there is much more content on screen, the overlay would need to cover nearly the entire screen which then defeats the whole purpose. That's why the standard library background is relatively dark - it has to work with a variety of backgrounds.

Hi. Today I reset my whole Coreelec, because it so slow. I installed the PMS and arctic horizon skin. After restart, I see blank posters, or just posters without clearlogo. If I quit from movies then reopen, the posters still there, and after 5-6 seconds later continuously dissapears. If I open the info dialog , the poster available. I switch back to Estuary skin and every poster correct. I try the AZ2 skin, and same problem.

Thanks for the explanation. Is it possible then to have the showcase showing permanently when scrolling through the widgets on the hime screen?

Additionally I like showing fan art but not on the homescreen. Is it possible to have this only for the video info dialog and keep the home screen blurred?

RE: Arctic Horizon - Rijs43 - 2020-04-12

Hope someone can point me to the correct setting in the following..

I have a couple of series I am watching and when selecting them from Widget Next up, I have to click to enter, select Browse, select season and hit play. Is there a possibility to enter the serie and hit Play but have also a button to enter the seasons as an option? Perhaps rather then showing actors etc in info dialog to have also more from season and showing all available season posters?

I know it is possible for next up episodes to hit play immediately but then I miss the option to scroll through the seasons whenever I want.

RE: Arctic Horizon - sabre6 - 2020-04-12

When clicking on a show, and it lists the shows horizontal (and seasons above that, there no longer seems to be air date in the info under the Title of the show. I found this super helpful.  Maybe i missed discussion on this.

Hi - have you installed artwork beef?
If so that will search for and add html links to images in your kodi database. It will take a while for kodi to download and cache all this images and posters etc will flicker during this time.
The default settings in artwork beef downloads 10-15 images per title - so its worth changing settings and reducing the amount and type of images you want it to download.

Please note: since the image links are written to the database they will still exist even if you remove artwork beef or if you change skin etc.
