Thanks. Yes, these are updated builds and should be preferred over the previous builds. RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - MrMichaelJames - 2014-04-11 I'll have to update tonight my SPMC install. Looking forward to an eventual Gotham build that works completely! All of my divx/xvid video is choppy with libstagefright. Back when I had an ouya using MediaCodec it would play xvid/divx and x264 flawlessly, libstagefright only seems to work well for x264. MediaCodec worked on your OUYA? I had to disable MediaCodec on my OUYA since it played all my DivX/XviD so poorly. With it off, they play just fine. Or are you referring to pass-through abilities? @ Koying Do you plan on checking the Gotham fixes into the main branch, or would they possibly break compatibility with other devices? Apologies for the confusion. RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - DiegoMejia - 2014-04-11 (2014-04-11, 17:10)elmerohueso Wrote:XBMC for ouya is still my version of choice. The new spmc version closed spmc when I tried playing a movie with dts-hd even though I had it disabled from pass through. I'll do more testing after work.(2014-04-11, 16:59)n3on Wrote: How likely is it to get MediaCodec working on for this piece of hardware? All of my divx/xvid video is choppy with libstagefright. Yes, actually they worked the best with it on. A friend of mine had the same experience as you and told me I was wasting my time with the OUYA. Then I updated to the nightly build of gotham with MediaCodec on and it ran flawlessly, after he saw it he decided to get one but then the FireTV came out literally the same week and we are hoping you clever folk will get it at least as robust as the OUYA. There is a very subtle jaggedness or jutter or choppiness (not sure what to call it) that I get only with Xvid/Divx, I tried straight multithreaded software decoding and it doesn't seem to make a bit of difference, not to mention that only 3 cores are being used which doesn't seem right. It's almost like switching from libstagefright to software multithreading doesn't actually do anything. RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - jjd-uk - 2014-04-11 (2014-04-11, 16:13)DiegoMejia Wrote: a bit off topic but Ouya signed a Deal to deliver software to a hardware company called nuvola with a device called Nuvola NP-1. That can do 4k content Ouya software is also coming to the Mad Catz M.O.J.O. which is based on the exact same hardware as the Nuvola and is only $199, see http://store.madcatz.com/home/ RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - cstark27 - 2014-04-11 Yes the Ouya version does DTS and DD pass through. RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - fanofanne - 2014-04-11 I concur with the other findings. 12.4.2 works great with pass-through to optical out. Monsters clip plays as DTS-ES Matrix 5.1 on my receiver. The Gotham build works as well without passthrough. Thanks Koying!!! The only other piece to my puzzle is getting the mythtv pvr client working with pass-through. It works great on Gotham, but the version is still the old one on 12.4.2. Does anyone know how to build the pvr clients for Android. I found some reference on how to do linux builds, but not clear on Android builds. If i can get the right version working on 12.4.2 with passthrough - that would be great Thanks Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - ilovemymac - 2014-04-11 (2014-04-11, 14:13)Koying Wrote:(2014-04-11, 14:02)dankec2000 Wrote: FireTV or Amlogic S802 M8?What's important is from whom you buy the device. I don't know about pivos they made 1 box while others have made several. Personally interested in minix new box. They offer good support and release updates. Plus I like they have several boxes to choose from. But pivos over gbox and mx2 horrible company RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - elmerohueso - 2014-04-11 (2014-04-11, 17:18)underworld123 Wrote:Could you double-check that XBMC for OUYA doesn't do pass-through, please? Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - ilovemymac - 2014-04-11 Mine does RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - jingram - 2014-04-11 I'm sure this is a stupid question, but can't quite figure it out. Messing with SPMC 12.3.3 and 12.4.2 currently. How can I add Netflix and Hulu to the Main Menu or is this not possible? I know I can launch them under apps, but ideally I would have them as part of the main menu bar on the home screen. I've searched, but haven't come up with anything. RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - crackd - 2014-04-11 Latest SPMC 12.4.2 plays great for me with Monsters (no dropped frames w/ 5.1 DTS audio on). Also, DTS passes through both toslink and HDMI cables successfully (I had XBMC's Audio Output set to "optical/coax" in both tests). |
