RE: WMC as the backend - released - Dilligaf - 2013-10-18 (2013-10-18, 21:53)TexasTony Wrote:(2013-10-18, 21:20)krustyreturns Wrote:(2013-10-18, 20:57)svanhess Wrote: Gotham build of the OS X client is now up: http://ge.tt/6XG7Rdv/v/0?c Glad you got it working. I would recommend a usb 3 thumb drive install, you still need a sd to boot but its speed is irrelevant. With a good power supply you should be able to overclock to 1Ghz plus when using usb boot RE: WMC as the backend - released - krustyreturns - 2013-10-18 (2013-10-18, 21:53)TexasTony Wrote: I was just reading about this gotham build. is that something I should be upgrading to, or should I just stay with the pvr-client you wrote. I recommend a spicy chicken sandwich. Gotham is the pre-release version of what will eventually be the lastest and greatest xbmc, using it now is not for the faint of heart. Until its released I am personally sticking with xbmc 12.2 (frodo). Plus only the frodo client is available on your pi, so far as I know. Besides dilligaf's recommendation, I think you are using wireless connection to your server (which I believe is a laptop). It might be worth looking at that too. RE: WMC as the backend - released - zbuzanic - 2013-10-19 Just wanted to say that ServerWMC works awesome on my htpc, tried many, but this one worked really great. Thank you for that and keep up the great work. RE: WMC as the backend - released - narber - 2013-10-19 I am pulling my hair out trying to get WMC Server to work with Raspbmc. I have Windows 8 with WMC. I can watch TV on my PC using an HDHomerun Prime with no issues. Raspbmc finds the tuners, pulls the EPG data, etc. But then I go to Live TV and select a channel in Raspbmc, the "working" wheel spins but I get no video signal. No error messages pop up. I am running Windows Firewall and have created exceptions for what I think are all the necessary apps/services. I created a rule in my router's settings to open port 9080. I have even tried turning off Windows Firewall completely. Still no video signal. Here is my latest log: http://pastebin.com/wZFKpK1k Thanks for any help. As mentioned repeatedly you need to set credentials for the recorded TV share either in XBMC or in ServerWMC folders tab. Use any user/pass that is valid on the Windows machine, simply sharing with "Everyone" isn't good enough for non Windows machines RE: WMC as the backend - released - TexasTony - 2013-10-19 (2013-10-19, 03:37)narber Wrote: I am pulling my hair out trying to get WMC Server to work with Raspbmc. You can purchase codec dirt cheap at www.raspberrypi.org for about 5 bucks. I would buy both to be safe. Way cheaper than joining hairclub for men ... At the ranch I have a HPDesktop with windows 7. Thinking about what you said, I noticed my router, which is a Linksys 54 wireless G (had it about 15 years) may be the bottleneck, even thou I have it hard wired to the pi with an Ethernet cable. Just wondering if an N router would work faster. Nowadays I only use the router to connect the desktop to the laptop or printer, but has no access to internet. TWC says no way to get cable all the way out here, especially just for me. LiveTv does not stutter. just recorded tv. Played recorded tv on desktop and it does not stutter meaning it did not record the stuttering. If so, this should give you the behavior you want. I will check it when I get a chance. If it is there and it works I could make it an option in the server settings. I needed the reminder, I'll try to get it into the next release. Played recorded tv on desktop and it does not stutter meaning it did not record the stuttering. If your server is also wired to the same router so the connection is all wired, that probably is not the cause. If it is using wireless g, I doubt it will be fast enough (and yes N is faster). Independent of my software I tried to use wireless to connect my server to a remote pc and it was not fast enough to play wtv smoothly over the network. Strange though that live tv is fine for you, but rec tv is is not, as they are not too different bandwidth wise - so maybe the problem is elsewhere. Hey Spaceboy, I found a fix for the error that stops streams from starting on some avc/h264 broadcasts in the UK. It works on the files you sent me (it will be in the next release). If the xbmc team can fix the stuttery playback in the ts files, we should be good. RE: WMC as the backend - released - dhogwood - 2013-10-19 Hey I have been reading through the whole thread and have attempted to find an answer but I'm hoping that I've not missed something. I am currently running XBMC Gotham v13 with the equivalent serverwmc installed and set up. The EPG populates fine in XBMC however the recording function doesn't appear to work. I get to the 'recording preference' screen however then that particular pop up appears to freeze and I cannot select anything on it or activate the recording. However if I go directly into WMC and set up a recording and then go back to XBMC the recording will be marked inside the EPG! I am running Windows 8 with the equivalent WMC and any help would be greatly appreciated! If you aren't using confluence, try it first and see if you still have the problem. RE: WMC as the backend - released - TheImmortal - 2013-10-20 The next build for Aeon MQ5 will include the files to add and delete series recordings. For those who don't want to wait, the files necessary to add this feature to the current build can be found here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=175438 RE: WMC as the backend - released - nimrod77 - 2013-10-20 Hi Krustyreturns, Thanks for your great work on this. I have one issue at the moment. I have one group of channels (SBS TV in Australia) that will not play on XBMC. When I try to watch SBS an error appears saying that the stream did not contain video. Every other channel works within XBMC. I can watch SBS with no problems within WMC7. I can schedule a recording of SBS from within XBMC with no problem and watch the recording with no problem in XBMC. Wierd, but annoying. Here is my log file: http://www.xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=71916 Any help would be great ![]() Cheers! |
