@jurialmunkey Really finding the skin to be an excellent evolution over AZ1. It's amazing how fluid and well implemented if feels even though it's still in alpha and I'm excited to see how it develops over the next few months. Thanks again for the many hours of your spare time you must have poured into building this.

With that being said, I'll just leave this screenshot of the new ATV interface with edge cut-off widgets here

It also auto-changes as the widget scrolls through the items behind the scenes.

Can you try v0.9.17-alpha2
https://github.com/jurialmunkey/skin.arctic.zephyr.2/archive/skin.arctic.zephyr.2-v0.9.17-alpha2.zip

Should be fixed now. Forgot about individual backgrounds and only adjusted clearlogo visibility for home fallback image.

I wouldn't mind if it was like this with the widgets cut-off by the screen edge (I do that in Aura!). The issue with AZ2 is that there is padding between the widget and screen edge, and having the cut-off floating is really ugly.

Like I said before, there needs to be padding between screen edge and widgets because that is where notifications and codec info show.
Kodi skinning engine doesn't provide any control over positioning of lists (i.e. widgets) inside a grouplist (i.e. the large vertical container which contains all the widgets), so there isn't any way to ensure that the focused widget leaves spaces from the bottom edge for the notifications etc.

The only way to control the positioning of lists inside a grouplist is to use some clever hacks (which is what I do in Aura) - but those break mouse support, and mouse is something I've been making sure to support as much as possible in AZ2.

If I could easily control the positioning of a focused widget from the screen edge, I wouldn't have any problems with different height widgets.

Unrelated.

Do you have a screenshot of the issue.
Also I don't know what you mean by "node". Nodes are folders in the library that organise library content via rules (e.g. Genres is a node which sorts movies into folder group based upon the genre of each movie. Recently added is a node which sorts movies by date added etc.). Nodes are basically smart playlists inbuilt into the library.
Sure. Here is the before and after.

The Fox thing is the node I was talking about. It is the channel but never showed like that before.

Ah, actually this is kind of related. (BTW that Fox32 item is just the first item in your list, must be what the title field is set to in the addon).

Seeing as there is actually a legitimate use for it, I've added an option to only use standard labels in v0.9.18 under "skinsettings > library > use standard labels instead of titles in list views"

As you can see, I have not assigned any seconds (i.e. time) in the settings to close the OSD. So if I want the OSD (along with the album art, artist name, etc) to remain displayed like in the 2nd picture, how can I do it?

Pressing "info" (or "i" on keyboard) with the osd controls closed should bring up the info and keep it up without needing to open the osd controls. However, I've found that the lyrics add-on can cause some issues because the lyrics add-on steals focus from the visualisation window.

This is expected behaviour. However, I should really disable that option if use fanart is not enabled.

Could you perhaps add some other logo's for the submenus? I feel there is no really suited logo for the imdb top 250 playlist, for moviesets, for cartoons or for in progress movies. Or, if not, where do I put my own, and what specifcs do they need to fit the design policy?

How are you adding the playlist to the menu?
Playlists in Userdata showup fine for me:
"Choose item for menu > Video Library > Playlists > My playlist"

I use icons from https://iconmonstr.com/
Let me know which icons you would like to add and I can add them.

Well, that wasn't working for me. They couldn't be found, so I had to add them to the playlist folder in the skin folder. Strange. Don't know why. Any ideas?

I would suggest the following icons:
In progress/now playing: continue icon like https://iconmonstr.com/arrow-17-svg/
Cartoons/children's programs: Mickey Mouse (but probably not possible due to copyrights, I guess) like https://banner2.kisspng.com/20180429/dxw/kisspng-mickey-mouse-logo-the-walt-disney-company-clip-art-mickey-mouse-ears-5ae5a42ba54e27.4183781515249992116771.jpg or smiley like https://iconmonstr.com/smiley-13-svg/
Sci-fi: another rocket, like https://iconmonstr.com/rocket-18-svg/
News: newspaper, like https://iconmonstr.com/newspaper-3-svg/
Documentary: looking glass like https://iconmonstr.com/file-38-svg/ or binoculars like https://iconmonstr.com/binoculars-7-svg/
IMDB top 250: trophy like https://iconmonstr.com/trophy-8-svg/ or "create" a logo by writing IMDb and Top 250 under eachother
Movies sets: collection like https://iconmonstr.com/layer-15-svg/ or https://iconmonstr.com/layer-19-svg/

Added some icons in latest release Smile

(2019-03-26, 09:52)jurialmunkey Wrote: Add all your music to the library and then use library node editor to create nodes with content rules based upon path.

Unfortunately, it's still not possible to group the way I'd like without spending a day with the node editor grouping exactly the file structure of my HDD.
Essentially my structure goes as follows:
https://del.dog/MusicStructure.rb
As far as I know it's impossible to structure like that unless it's manual or unless I'm okay with every artist showing in the genre list. In my EDM folder that gets extensive as I have a lot of Monstercat albums so I keep those in a seperate Various Artists folder. So I kinda have to stick to the files view to keep my structure.
  • Add your music source and scan everything to library
  • In node editor addon, delete all the nodes like Artists and Genres by using the delete option in the context menu (this is optional and only if you want to get rid of the nodes for *all* music items).
  • Then add three parent nodes: EDM, Metal, Other
  • Enter each parent node and add a rule: Path contains PATH_TO_BASE_FOLDER (you can search for the path by choosing "Browse for value")
  • Then in each parent node you can now add nodes for whatever sorting etc. options that you want (e.g. Artists, Albums, Years, Recently Played etc.)

This way you get rich library data for each section whilst also maintaining your separation of items according to folders.

The 5 star rating will show the library user rating. However, I don't know of anyway to get the trakt rating from the trakt add-on. If you know of a skin that does this, please direct me to it and include a screenshot of the trakt rating in action.

Not sure if this is a bug, but when using PVR, the OSD displays the following:

<Current Show's Title>
<Current Show's Plot>
<Next show's title>
<Current Show's Plot>

So it shows the current show's plot twice. This is on a fresh install, with TVHeadend as the backend. Could be related to the format/structure of the EPG data in AU?

This is an issue with TvHeadEnd either filling EpisodeName or EPGEventTitle incorrectly. My guess is that it is incorrectly putting the plot into EPGEventTitle. EPGEventTitle is meant for showing details about live events such as who is playing who in a sports match.

Aeon nox5 / aeon tajo has an alphabet strip that you make like ....

@jurialmunkey

fps info/icon is missing. Not sure if it's intentional because of minimalist look for AZ2
