Here is my log: http://goo.gl/vvghY0

The bad request errors show between every segment in the CV sequence. Kinda diminishes the theater experience.

thx

Hi Scott,

Did you get a chance to look at my logs and see what might have been triggering the YouTube call between each segment? I have since uninstalled that addon, but thought it was strange that CV was calling YouTube each time during the sequence.

Thx

If I knew what the command string to update the content database was now I could probably do it.

I spoke to our developer, and we haven't written that in (yet). It's high on our list of things to do, and will directly interface with the CinemaVision Service Add-on to update the content automatically in the background. You'll also be able to call directly to it, if you want to do that.

I do now get a delay 50% of the time when starting a movie in Cinema mode before the intro sequence starts.

I have customized your default sequence and I am happy with it while learning how to configure it, I got a lot of compliments over the weekending demo'ing to friends.

Is the delay audio, video or both? There are a few settings that might be able to help you out:
  1. The Pause video during refresh rate change Kodi setting.
  2. The Video delay (milliseconds) CinemaVision setting.
    • Open CinemaVision add-on settings.
    • Select the Playback menu.
    • Set the Video delay (milliseconds) setting to the desired time you wish to pause the playback.

Sure did, and it didn't make a lot of sense. We've never seen that behavior before. I got pulled away to real life issues at work, and the log expired. Can I get another from you so I can bring it back up to our developer?

Hi Scott,

Here is a new log with the YouTube addon uninstalled. It looks as if CV still tries to make a call to it. After I made this log I discovered that the CV setting to ignore YouTube trailers was not on, but not sure why it would still make queries to the addon during the sequence when a trailer is not being played.

thx

Hey Lee,

This log is a bit more clear. Looks like it's an issue with the Skin Helper Service, and not actually CinemaVision

Code:
13:03:27 T:3896   ERROR: Skin Helper Service --> getJson - invalid result for Method Files.GetDirectory - params: { "properties": ["title","art"], "directory": "plugin://plugin.video.youtube/kodion/search/query/?q=C:/Users/leejk/AppData/Roaming/Kodi/addons/script.cinemavision/resources/videos/script.cinemavision.dummy_NEXT.mpeg", "media": "files" } - response: {u'jsonrpc': u'2.0', u'id': 1, u'error': {u'message': u'Invalid params.', u'code': -32602}}

I'm not sure why it's calling YouTube, though. You may want to post here and see what's going on.

Is your movie from a streaming source or from a movie scraped into your Kodi library? How are you launching CinemaVision? Can you post a debug log for us to review?

Scott, is version 1.0.12 on Github ready for primetime?

While you're welcome to use it, I wouldn't recommend it just yet. Version 1.0.12 is a bug fix version that hasn't yet been tested, and currently only has a few small changes. If you're not having any issues, I'd suggest sticking with version 1.0.11 that you'll find on the official repository.

Is there a new version? What's changed?

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - Clanhold Cinema - 2016-06-05

Just wanted to say a huge thanks for the amazing program. I sometimes call it cinema experience still so if someone comes here's asking about it then it's probably my fault but in my home theater it's the icing on the cake. I hope to post some new videos on YouTube soon with more additions to my home theater and concession/games room so check them out. YouTube name is Clanhold Cinema, same as here.

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - KrispyKreme - 2016-06-07

is there anyone who can help me? I have been attempting to get CV to recognize 3D trailers but I can't get them to work for some reason. I got the 3D intro and the audio bumper for 3D to work but the 3D trailers in my folder never seem to come up. any ideas?

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - Me23 - 2016-06-07

Scott, any chance this can work with Control4 home automation. It's a dealer required system, so not has open as other solutions. But if you tell me what is needed maybe I can get a driver made that can help.

The stable version is still 1.0.11 which is available in the official repository. The next version only contains a few bug fixes. If you're not seeing issues, I'd recommend using 1.0.11. If you are seeing issues, I'd recommend posting up a log so we can make sure it's an issue we've got a fix for. Smile We're still waiting on our developer to finish his other commitments before starting the next round of development.

Excellent! Really glad you like it! CV is the spiritual successor to CE, and I consider giftie a friend. Believe me, I don't mind the mix up. Looking forward to the videos! Let me know when you put them up and I'll feature them in our YouTube showcase.

Hey here! You'll want to make sure that your 3D trailers are scraped into your Kodi library, and then scraped into the CinemaVision database via a content update. We've also included StereoscopyNews.com as a streaming source for 3D movies. You'll want to enable the scraper in either the global or module settings. If all else fails, see if you can reach out to Dave the Minion. He's become our resident 3D expert. Smile

True story, I'm 98% certain that we have at least one member using CV with Control4, but I have absolutely no idea how it's been done. Like you said, Control4 is very closed source. CinemaVision can send commands via Python script or API calls using GET/POST/PUT/DELETE methods. Is there some module that enables you to control Control4 via HTTP commands? A quick search turned this up, but I don't know if it's supported, working, or has the features you want. If it (or something like it) is available, that'd be the way to go I think. You'd really only need to put URLs in your action files that kick off whatever you want to do. Should be pretty simple after it's set up in Control4. I also found this but it looks like it might be a bit expensive...

Thanks Scott for the answer. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or my settings off but I know I have the content folder scraper and iTunes scraper in my settings. I don't want trailers from movies in my library to play, only upcoming movies like in the cinema. StereoscopyNews.com never works at all. Most, if not all my trailers are in the content folder because I download them from movie-list.com in lossless quality. I put my 3d trailers in the content folder but when I run the sequence, they are never recognized even with the appropriate tags(.3D., SBS, TAB) . Now 2D trailers do work just fine. Is it possible to add in a future update a separate folder for 3D trailers? Also will cinema vision ever be able to read nfo data info we add to trailers like Cinema Experience did? It allowed us to put our own info like genre, plot, etc so the right trailers would play before the movie based on genre if we downloaded our own into the folder. Right now it is just random ones playing from the folder. Once again, thanks Scott! love the addon and looking forward to future updates and helping improve the experience.Wink
