RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - TheGame1986 - 2017-01-02

Here is a simple re-skin of the default skin. It may have some errors, please let me know, but it all looked fine on my system (Jarvis, Confluence, Windows). It's partially based on my original default skin for FTV Guide and slightly inspired by the YouView set top boxes.

Here is what it looks like:

I have found one small bug in the videowindow of full screen video. I will fix it tomorrow and re-upload.

Glad you like it.

Nice skin..

Is the bug the end time that is not shown in full or is that another?

Something that plays the likes of these would be great.
Channel=ActivateWindow(10025,plugin://plugin.video.addonname/?mode=my_calendar,return)

Another idea is maybe appending from the normal kodi favourites.xml to the favourites.xml (isearch) in the epg addon. It's a sleeping giant i have been tinkering with. Playercorefactory.xml too. I was thinking of adding an if android exists show android stuff button.

While skinning is being discussed, i'm really lazy and use a mouse for 99% of the commands. My main keyboard is slim missing many common buttons like end and pg up\down so i try to create mouse buttons to click. There's only 3 times i need a keyboard; to enter channel number, to hit enter in the osd while channel surfing to tune to a different station, and going to the first channel number with "end" key. So, is there a sendclick for enter and end that would work, and maybe add an onscreen keyboard for channel numbers as a setting? I find it funny how much i get away with using only a mouse and am amazed these are the only commands i can't do.

I like using the mouse too if I can find a flat surface near the sofa. It should be easy enough to add some dialogs for numeric input.

Someone asked about playing Android channels. Have you found a way to do it?

The PlayWith command is a neat Kodi feature that I've never seen used before. I use it in the AutoPlayWiths to launch a channel with a player from the PlayerCoreFactory.xml. That is why I suggested the Playback hooks, which could let you do some powerful stuff with a bit of external code.

The ActivateWindow command should be easy enough to add. I think I've got most Favourites types to play in Simple Favourites now but there are a bazillion ways to launch shortcuts in Kodi.

When you select the channel and the menu list comes up . there will be a favorites option. and you can select the channel and it will launch.

It wasn't a standard setting . but I haven't checked on the last update. I'm still having issue with finding a decent EPG. and the program wont seem to load using the pvr demo.

I don't remember if the favorites is tied to simple favorites

I did try the Lab 2 settings for the yo.tv and yotv now epg It loaded country(USA) but didn't seem to load the next selection. IThe Country didn't seem to set and the 2nd option wouldn't load at all.

Is there anyway not to require the PVR for the program to load?

That's another. I only just noticed that. On my screen it shows fine, so I just need to adjust the length of it to make it show more. Updated skin will be uploaded at some point today.

If you want to try RayW1986's new skin:

make a folder called userdata\addon_data\script.tvguide.fullscreen\resources\skins
unzip Blue.zip to userdata\addon_data\script.tvguide.fullscreen\resources\skins\Blue
Settings \ Appearance \ Skin Type = Yours
User Skin Name = Blue

RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - Cangeoboy - 2017-01-03

When I am at the top of the EPG and push the up arrow, it doesn't go the last channel in my guide (118), but to the last channel that is currently showing on the screen (i.e. Channel 10 of 118). If however I am on the last channel of my guide (118) and push the down arrow, it goes to channel 1 at the start of my guide. Is there an option in the context menu I'm missing so that pressing the up arrow at the beginning of the guide will cycle to the last entry? Or is the guide not designed to do this?

It should just go to the last channel when you press up on the first channel.

Does it do that in a Category or in All Channels?
Have you done any button remapping in Action Editor or Keymap Editor?
Are there any errors in the log file?

Post or pm me a debug kodi.log with just that behaviour in it.

Don't have categories for any of my channels created. Don't think I've done any remapping. Looks like there might be an error in the log, cskininfo? I'm using the new skin rayw1986 created, but the error was happening when I used the default skin as well. I've put a link to my debug log below.

Turn debug logging on so I can see the key presses.

I need a baseline comparison so can you do the same in Jarvis Confluence with the Default skin.
You can start Kodi up in portable mode so it won't mess with your Krypton settings.
kodi.exe -p

Just copy over the addon_data folder from Krypton to the portable Jarvis installation so everything is setup the same.
userdata\addon_data\script.tvguide.fullscreen

RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - moshoodo123 - 2017-01-03

@RayW1986, In tvguide-main.xml, at line 154 dont forget to remove

Code:
<control type="image">
            <description>background</description>
            <posx>0</posx>
            <posy>0</posy>
            <width>1280</width>
            <height>720</height>
            <texture>background.png</texture>
            <visible>true</visible>
        </control>

for blackout on play to work. Also in media, tvg-tv has been renamed to tvg-tv2 so currently it shows nothing if no programme thumb is present instead of TV shape box.
