It would be nice to just have an option somewhere which states 'Scrape for XBMC'. As a user doesn't know what the supported format in the mediaplayer must be (movie.fanart.jpg or movie.fanart.tbn or movie-fanart.jpg, ...) It would make things a lot easier for first time users.

+1 damn that is a good idea too ....too bad i already followed the tut before this gets implemented xD

- bodrick - 2011-12-20

So looking through the thread already it seems there are a lot of folks that are still using Ember. So just to keep everyone updated, my current plans are to clean up the code and try and fix a few bugs that have been reported, and try to implement some features that have been requested. In regards to time frames, I'm unsure, with the holidays impending things will not be as swiftly implemented, but I will certainly try and work on it some.

Just to keep folks in the loop, I will be having surgery in the next week, nothing serious, but it puts my left arm out of commission for a while, which happens to be my dominant hand, so programming won't be easy, so don't expect too much programming from me, I'll be on the forums still, I can still type with one hand, but I'm sure you programmers out there know, its tricky to program one handed. I'll see what i can do though.

Anyway thats the current situation, my goal is to keep ember alive and to keep it moving forward.

How about a new Splash Screen.

I like it a lot, I'm not an artist in any shape or form, so if folks want to contribute to the artwork or graphics etc that would be great.

Thank you very much for keeping ember alive. It is a very good piece of software and it's nice to see it will keep improving Smile

And good luck on your surgery Smile

It's better to have a slow timeline with a stable and good product, than to have a developer releasing products which are unstable and need a lot of bug-fixing, keeping the developer frustrated as well as the community.

I wish you all the best with your surgery. As your health is more important than programming. Take your time and enjoy the holiday's. In Debian Linux we always say: It's ready when it's ready.

If I click on "donate" in ember (1.3.0.1), is the information on paypal up to date?

Interesting, not seen this one before, I'm suspecting there is maybe either a corruption in the database (unlikely), or that something in the title or description is throwing ember out of whack, I'll take a look into it and see what I can find.

I just tried Media Companion, but I have to admit: it's just to busy. The screen is really overwhelming and I don't like it at all. When trying XBNE it looked like a was launching a new game. But it did ask me for what MediaCenter I wanted to scrape art for, which was a good thing!

Of the 3 tools I've tested now I like Ember MM the most. A nice and clean GUI, does what it needs to do, ... it's just the best there is.

When trying to add the TV-shows it didn't find anytyhing. The option for scraping was not available. Must be something wrong. But my structure is completely different than would be expected by XBMC.

- Series
+ MacGyver - Season 1
- MacGyver - 01x01 - The beste there is.avi

It doesn't work Sad

If I recall, TV always played second fiddle with regards to ember development, so it lacks in a lot of areas, hopefully I can improve on that as development moves forward. Right now just getting it to be stable again and scraping properly is focus, and code cleanup of course
