Port forwarding will be very insecure. Go for a vpn.

Hi Guys ,

Love the app that runs on my tablet and on my phone.
BUT I found something a bit strange : I miss a lot of albums and tracks in the music segment.
For instance, I can found all the albums of a band called underworld via Kodi or the webinterface BUT none of them show up with Kore Confused
Did I miss something ?

Thanks for any advise or suggestion Smile

Love this app; messing with the kids' playlist from another room in the house...priceless.

If you could find a way to solve the direction arrows for time-stepping during playback, Kore could truly replace my other remotes. Is this functionality impossible to implement, or just tough to figure out?

Regardless, great work syncd Wink

Hi!

I really like this App just one question. Is there a way to rearrange the remote buttons ? I use the subtitle feature with every show/movie and would like to access it directly on the remote instead of having to tap the more options button and choose it from there.

1. Regarding the looks of a couple of sections, any chance to replace the orange slider by cyan or another colour; feels a bit Plexish atm, if you know what I mean.

2. How do I take screenshots of kodi with the Kore remote? Anyway for Kore to have an icon dedicated to this?

Obrigado!

The colors will probably be reviewed sometime in the future. I'll ask for Samfischer's help on this.

I don't think it is possible to take a screenshot of kodi remotely.

Have you tried forcing a sync? In the music section pull down and wait a bit (can take a while). Check the message that appears. Then, switch to for instance the remote and back to the music section and check if it is there.

It's possible, but it's kind of a mess (in terms of code), so i've been avoiding it. I'll probably take a second look soon.

I also use the subtitles feature in every show/movie, so i understand your point, but what you're asking would complicate the UI, and i want to keep the remote clean, simple and more or less following Android's guidelines, so i'm not a fan of letting the user customize the UI of apps...

Thanks a million !

Would it be possible to add http URL stream command? Yesterday I tried to play movie from internet and I wasn't able to force the kodi to play it. I had to use bubbleupnp, manually add the url to playlist and then play it through Kodi. It would be great if we could just paste the url somewhere in Kore and press play.

Not sure if there is an offical place for feature requests but I have a really small one.

Android fast scroll leter pop up, as seen here:

Oh also one more larger request. There was a port of the old xbmc remote that had voice controls enabled and they worked really well! Quickest way to start a video. Here's the thread: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=134659

Thank you so much for this great remote!

@syncd GREAT APP!

I love all of the new features in the now playing menu. Very nice.

I do miss some things from the old XBMC app. Don't know if you could add these, but I would appriciate it.
  • I know it has been mentioned before, but could you add d-pad support? I realize this may not be a priority as there is rw/ff, but I got used to the stepforward stuff.
  • Could you have it pause playback when you get a phone call? Not sure how to do this, but it was really handy if I was using my phone as the remote.
  • Could you have it display incoming texts. Again got used to this on the old app and it was really handy

I realize that these last two might be a little more difficult to do. I do know the old XBMC remote had them so you might be able to talk to the Dev team and see if they know how to achieve this. Honestly, this is a great feature since incoming calls often lock out phone screens.

I just reset my entire database and Kodi needed to refresh all my artwork, so I'm wondering if Kore needs to do the same? And, if so, does refreshing the local "database" also cleanup images referring to my previous database?

Edit:

Nevermind, had to clear all data anyway. The new database on my kodi install and my old info on Kore got mixed up. Item "X" on kore pointed to item "Y".

Is there a button for Party Mode or continuous shuffled playback of all songs in the library?
I can't find one :/

The remote overall is just fantastic though, much better than the other ones I've tried!

Ok, I have read thru and I don't think I missed anyone else having this same problem. I am running Win7 and have no real issues except for one. When I try to use the TV Shows and launch a show from there, When the pop up menu comes up for "autoplay" or other sources. Kore does not seem to work at all in there. It does not blue highlight or anything within Kodi. So I have to use my mouse to actually select the source to get it to play. Now I don't have this issue when I go into my video add-ons and select a TV show or Movie there. Any help with what is causing this would be great. Thanks.

Edit: Ok, I make this post. Then I go into my TV show again, and this time it worked just fine. Highlighted and allowed me to select it. I dunno if the other times it was a fluke or this time was the fluke. I will report again tomorrow if it still is an issue. Strange.

Youtube URLs should work. There's no general stream command on Kodi, so what you're asking is not possible.

D-pad is coming (somewhat against my will, but many people are asking for it)

As for the other 2, not for now, because they require pretty invasive permissions for Kore. It would require Kore to have permissions to access your Phone, your contacts, your messages and probably more. Users would naturally ask themselves why does a remote wants so much permissions, and i would agree.

Now, Google is revising the permission system on the next version, to work more like iOs (on demand permissions), so i might take a look into this in the future, but it would only be available on newer versions.

RE: Kore - Kodi/XBMC remote for Android - floridawatersxx - 2015-06-24

well I was able to recreate the issue I had with the controls not working. Here is how I have it happen. First, it works fine if I menu thru the TV Shows in my library on Kodi. However, when I use the menu on my Android phone for TV shows and launch the show from there it doesn't drop into the remote menu to allow me to select the source. Actually even tonight when I hit the button for the remote keys it went to trying to connect to Kodi, even though it was still connected. It was strange. Not sure if anyone else has run into this issue.
