Apple TV 4K is used for all streaming viewing - it's just by far the best DRM solution with content frame rate switching I've found.
AM6B+ (CoreElec), Vero V (OSMC) and Raspberry Pi 5 (LibreElec) are my main boxes for Kodi. All have pluses and minuses. (My AM6B+ chokes on high bitrate 1080p50 10-bit SDR h.265/HEVC self-encoded stuff that the Pi 5 plays perfectly for instance)

! Wish Apple TV supported HD audio passthrough & allowed Kodi via its TV App Store. Know there are hacky ways to do it (not to mention the 7-day issue) or pay for an annual subscription (feels just wrong IMHO). Especially as a new model is supposedly coming out this year.

3D playback remains broken on Ugoos AM6B+ w/CE
... unsure if the issue affects S905X4-based boxes. CE devs not responding and/or don't seem to care. For 3D, use Realtek-based Dune or Zidoo players, and alternatively Vero V.

what is the best budget device overall for just enjoying HDR+ and DV movie BLU-RAY without break the bank please ? (I want to enjoy only local media, so a pure kodi device is a good option, i dont care about Netflix etc. ^^)
Also i don’t care about 3D, or FEL or anything else sounds like too complicated for me ^^'.
Ugoos AM6B+ is expensive in EU (around 200E), it is to expensive for just a "device".
What is your thought about the new ones from Ugoos ? Nobody talks about it.

"best budget device overall for just enjoying HDR+ and DV" and "pure kodi device is a good option" = Dune HD Pro Vision 4K w/CoreELEC (US$149) or Ugoos X4Q Extra ($122 approx) also w/CE. Both support UHD DV FEL if that's important to you. Homatics Box R 4K Plus is also a solid (FEL-supported) option for $100-ish. You can just use CE off a mSD card and ignore the Android TV side if you don't need Netflix, etc.

Which country are you from? hdmkv recommendation imo is the best. Best support, bugs already worked out and everything works
If you buy from aliexpress , you might get coupons in your country. I get it in UK so I get 12 euros off. Aliexpress allocated a certain amount each day so if you miss it today, get it tomorrow.

. Did you install ATV14 on your Homatics? This firmware or was it pushed via OTA? The thread on CE forum is somewhat confusing. Seems like ATV14 is generally considered better on this box than 12, and that CE-NG does now work on it?
