RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - MikeKL - 2017-01-06

Just rolled back to last nightly build of rpi2 LibreELEC Krypton #1129 and TV Guide Fullscreen add-on appears to be working correctly in this build, will now step forward to understand where breakage occurs.
(whilst running build #1129 Added alternative add-on streams for three channels and now able to switch between preferred and alternative streams during selection to watch in TV Guide)

Regarding your 1st Query basically the whole GUI panel for manually selecting add-on then channel of interest etc...before saving is empty (see posted images in previous post)

Regarding your other questions (unless images in previous post provide additional clues) I have to admit to staying basic with my usage of this add-on and have only been selecting a channel stream via browse add-on and select method.
(Never got my head around save specific add-ons channels to addons.ini and/or favorites so not entirely sure on usage method to check and then answer questions)

OK going to continue to roll forward to see when breakage occurs in rpi2 nightly (Kodi 18.0) builds Blush
(Wish to ensure TV Guide continues working fully using latest bleeding edge rpi LibreELEC builds, where possible)

S (on keyboard) is used by Aeon MQx skins for a special submenu. Please don't override this letter.

Primaeval, rolling through installing Milhouse builds on rpi2, I have now established definitive build where issue first occurs and its build #1213 Build and release notes are here in order to hopefully gain an understanding of which modification made in LibreELEC could cause issue I am observing.

When working correctly, able to browse, select and save an alternative stream

When working incorrectly, blank panel

If they have changed the RPC version in Kodi 18, that would probably break it.

OK, so I ran debug with verbose logging enabled for jason-rpc with Kodi 18 #1212b and #1106 builds (builds #1213 on-wards exhibiting issue)

Essentially all I have captured in following debug logs is start of Kodi on each build and access into TV Guide Fullscreen addon, via context option then context option on 1st channel in TV Guide to access "stream setup" and move to "browse" option in top options.

#1212b Kodi debug log
#1106 Kodi debug log

I appreciate issue is not a priority as kodi 18 is long way off with kodi 17 not yet at final release. BlushBlush

I tried the latest nightly on windows and I couldn't even get the guide to open.
I really haven't got the energy to debug someone else's mess.
It can wait until next year.

OK No problem.

Also I can confirm kodi crash occurs in Krypton RC (stable build) for krypton installed on Win & OSX OS as soon as attempt is made to enter TV Guide Fullscreen (after going into add-on settings via context to provide guide.xml location)

macOS Sierra & Kodi 17-RC2 Git:20161230-5c40b5c
win10 & kodi 17-RC2 Git:20161230-5c40b5c-dirty

Krypton RC might be a problem if they don't fix it.
Please let me know if you see any errors relating to script.tvguide.fullscreen in the log.

I use this same combination -> win10 & kodi 17-RC2 Git:20161230-5c40b5c-dirty - it doesn't crash for me, everything works absolutely fine. Maybe there's a more underlying issue somewhere with your setup?

@primaeval, thanks for all the effort you are putting on this addon, definately the most powerful have ever seen in Kodi, I almost finish Modding @RayW1986, Skin, I modded it to look like a UK cable. I am not an experience skinner but am learning so fast. I am trying to add a button on Video OSD so that when I click the button it will show the description. currently i align it at the top but I want it hidden and show when a button is clicked. see my Osd Mod to understand.

Do you want it to work like the QuickEPG where you press i to get the info?
You can get to the QuickEPG by pressing down in TV Mode.

I know you all love your Murdoch boxes but when you've copied the Ikea colour scheme please have a go at creating something special that shows off your creativity. Let's go forwards into the future. Smile I'd love to see something I've never seen before.

Ok Boss, am trying to do the mod for my 10yro daughter who doesnt want to get over Murdoch Box after cutting the cord. you know best bro, the current description position is ok as shown in the pic, I Just dont want it to be static like that. was thinking of an info button on Osd which will show it when clicked. if not possible, not a problem bro.

Really appreciate what you do here.

Regards

It is possible. If it is the same as the QuickEPG one I can just copy that code to the OSD action and get a release out for you.

RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - primaeval - 2017-01-07

@moshoodo123
I made an example in a branch called osd at Github.
Use END on Windows to toggle the OSD Description.
When you go back to the normal branch you might need to reset the actions in Action Editor.
