RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - sbougie - 2017-01-07

Hello,

I was using TV Guide with my XML that i'm downloading from zap2xml with my personal logo. I'm trying to switch to this addon because it seems more up to date but i'm getting a blank TV Guide with my personal logo... I'm using the exact same file from the TV Guide addon for this one... Not sure why i dont see the TV show in the schedule.

Just in case you need this information i'm using the following command to get me XML file

zap2xml -u myemail@email.com -p password -U -F

I really hope someone can help

Thanks
sbougie

There are a ton of options for how this guide finds and displays images now.
Post an example of the image url and the contents of your settings.xml.
You can't pm me until you have 10 posts.

Did you try it from Github?
I need to know what a sensible Action is for that command as "i" is already taken for closing the OSD.

Thanks for the help.
Are you trying it with a fresh setup and on different machines?
FXB78 says his setup has been working fine.

Looks interesting, but gives me an error on both Jarvis & Krypton:

Thanks. 0.0.3 should fix it. Try a repo update.
I missed the BeautifulSoup import.

Thanks, works great Smile

The only thing missing is a couple of filters to personalise it a bit. For example if I'd like to choose Football as the only sport, or maybe Football & Darts or something. I have no interest in NBA, NFL & the like so would like to exclude them if possible. Also, an option for multiple countries would be great, i.e. UK & Ireland.

I don't think I can do multiple countries very easily. The original web site does them one at a time or all together.

Ah ok, I just checked & it's not actually a problem for my usage as if I choose "ie" it shows the UK channels anyway (Sky/BT etc), so it's fine Smile

@primaeval, I think I can live without it bro, its not ok to start messing around with already good command action. I will do some more digging to see if I can have it as just a physical button.

Best Regards

Let me know if you need some code for a button in gui.py.
This is still super experimental beta software so I don't mind adding in new ideas.
One day it might get some experimental features trimmed and a bit more polishing.

I've still got a lot of anger towards Sky. I spend about 6 months trying to convince them my dad had died to stop his subscription. They wouldn't let up and wanted death certificates etc. It was really upsetting. I don't want anything to do with them now. I found out I wasn't the only one. The resemblance of Murdoch to Mr Burns isn't just superficial.

@primaeval, I can feel your pain Bro, their wickedness led me to Kodi, was paying them about £80 monthly but they keep charging me more. their unlimited have fair usage policy. cutting them off has saved me a lot. but you know kids, they are used to it and so much love Murdoch. just doing this mod to please them. ok will let you also thinking of adding channel up / down as a button in the Osd.

Regards

Channel Up/Down moves you up and down the channels though doesn't it? My suggestion would be that you use the Quick EPG & have the i key mapped to show/hide info. Pressing i in Quick EPG currently does nothing. To access Quick EPG you press Down, then Back to exit, so adding info into it wouldn't be disruptive I don't think.

I've not tried but you could probably replicate your mod into the quick EPG by limiting the number of visible channels to one, that way it could look exactly as you want and give you the info functionality.

EDIT - I just tried this & it looks like it would require a bit of a change to the gui.py, more specifically self.quickChannelIdx. If my suggestion is of use perhaps this could be a user defined number instead of being hard-coded as 3? Personally I'm happy to leave it at 3, but if it helps moshoodo123 to achieve his mod it might be worth doing, just a thought.
