RE: WMC as the backend - released - l3wdoo - 2013-11-06 Krusty, great work!! I had been wanting to make a move to XBMC for a while but hadn't because WMC was working so well for live/recorded tv. I'm running Gotham Alpha 9 on Windows 7, everything is working quite well except for something I just noticed. I'm running two HD homeruns, so four tuners all ASTC OTA, one of the four tuners performs worse than the other three but it is the first tuner in the tuner call order. In WMC I was able to change that tuner to the last in the order by editing the channel sources, however that tuner ordering doesn't seem to carry over into XBMC, XBMC just calls the first tuner first. Is there a way to change the tuner ordering? Any thoughts/suggestions? I do have a ticket in with silicondust to see if the performance of the one tuner can be improved but was hoping you (or anyone on the boards) has a suggestion. Thanks. Is the problem that both recording and live-tv are not respecting the tuner priority you set? Or just live-tv? I ask because I think I can see where to add the tuner priority to live-tv, but it seems to me that the recording priority should be carried over from wmc. RE: WMC as the backend - released - miker25 - 2013-11-06 It appears people are beginning to follow my instructions on the openelec boards on bringing in the RaspberryPi pvr.wmc file. http://www.openelec.tv/forum/71-pvr-live-tv/67571-pvr-wmc-client-add-on#90809 I just uploaded the .zip to KR's google drive to just make it easier for the masses. https://drive.google.com/?authuser=0#folders/0ByNnAMYBoWvfQVBBNzFhZmNPWUE RE: WMC as the backend - released - Dilligaf - 2013-11-06 (2013-11-06, 21:46)miker25 Wrote: It appears people are beginning to follow my instructions on the openelec boards on bringing in the RaspberryPi pvr.wmc file.Really?? So what gives you the right to rip something out of someones project and distribute it? Did you include the source and credits? Did you get permission? I know nothing can be done about individuals ripping it out of the distro but packaging and distributing it is just wrong. As stated earlier the source is available to Sraue if he chooses not to include it then that is his decision. Quick scan of some of the original source shows they were released under GPL. Package has been uploaded to the ORIGINAL authors google drive. No problem at all. RE: WMC as the backend - released - bigwah - 2013-11-07 Been using this for a few weeks, working rock solid. I do have a few questions, and these may not be addon related, but are kinda holding me back from making the full switch to xbmc. 1. How do i edit the epg? Everytime I open it (probably just after xbmc has been closed/opened) its back at channel 2. I'd rather it just start at a certain channel (first HD channel) or just be able to remove the ones I dont watch. 2. The fast forward/back 30 seconds listed here http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Keyboard_controls dont work. Specifically I'm trying to use the default '., (quote, period, comma). What is the trick to getting these to work? 3. Subtitles. Is there way to get them working using this? Krusty, I have only been using serverwmc for a few days and haven't yet experimented with recorded-tv, so at this point I would say just live-tv. Thanks. It's under Tv/Guide/Edit channels. Your channels will be reflected in XBMC for channels that you remove there. 3) I believe I remembered that this isn't possible as it's lost from the wtv file when transcoded to ts (if I am wrong someone let me know) RE: WMC as the backend - released - krustyreturns - 2013-11-07 (2013-11-07, 05:13)bigwah Wrote: Been using this for a few weeks, working rock solid. 1) I can't control this in in the addon. What Bungee said is probably the best way to go. 2) You can map the keys to be whatever you want. If I recall right the default mapping for the keys you mention is channel control for live tv. 3) I would like to look into this too, right now I don't know enough about it so say whether its possible or not, but I don't think remuxing to ts is a show stopper necessarily. I think a problem is xbmc is not able to do cc with wtv files. I have seen public domain software that is supposed to extract cc from wtv files that would be interesting to look into too (I think it was call ccextract or some such). That makes sense then. My guess is the tuner priority works for recorded tv files, and I will be able to add it to live-tv too. Can't tell you how grateful I am to have a shot at using WMC as a backend (former 6 year SageTV user). I am also getting the error "no video data found on this channel" when launching a LIVE TV channel. Everything else is working (EPG guide, playback of RecordedTV, etc). In the \\MEDIASERVER\Recorded TV\TempXBMC\savedForDebug folder I can see that the channel recording started successfully (approx. 5 seconds of video). Please see my log file below. I am using two Colossus tuners and Windows Media Center is working perfectly with both of them through the native application. I have deleted all references to "watched folders" in WMC as well as removed both the server and the client WMC PVR, deleted the original files and reinstalled with the same outcomes. Thoughts? THANK YOU! I am getting the same error when attempting to watch live tv. It was working a few days ago and I can't think of anything I changed. Can you post a server log that contains a fail? RE: WMC as the backend - released - locoguano - 2013-11-07 Well. I have my Recorded TV folder on a separate drive now. Everything is working fine except... Got a strange one... All the channels work great except one. This channel is an HD channel and its jumpy. Not starts and stops, but instead slow-downs and catch-ups. All other channels on the same tuner works fine. The channel works fine in WMC. I've tried pausing to give a bigger buffer to see if that is the issue, but the playback doesn't change. Edit: Nevermind. Seems to be fine now. I had Deinterlace set to "On" instead of "auto". That seems to have been the issue. RE: WMC as the backend - released - hoopsdavis - 2013-11-08 (2013-11-07, 23:55)locoguano Wrote: Well. Krusty Recorded wtv files from uk ota broadcasts appear to have embedded subtitles when played back through xbmc (selectable under the audio settings during playback). Let me know if you need an example file. |
