RE: CCM for Helix - jmh2002 - 2015-05-11

It would be great if CCM Helix could add a Custom Video Widget like exists in Aeon Nox, Eminence, Zephyr, and other skins in order that we can display Videos from other installed AddOns.

Or have I maybe missed something and this already exists?

EDIT: I found it, you need to add a Video Node, and then there is a special widget for this. Cool!

RE: CCM for Helix - cabrio - 2015-05-11

just a small note/bug.

I noticed when i started an mp4 file with an appropriate subtitle in the same location, regardless of whether you turn it off though the subtitle menu while playing or through the audio menu setting it to default off, it always starts playing the subtitles when you restart the movie again.

Anyone else had this experience?

Thanks

RE: CCM for Helix - jjdavola - 2015-05-12

I was looking into custom builds last week, but thankfully stumbled across CCM and have never looked back.

A couple questions for the resident experts here. First, I'm using Kodi on a Windows 8.1 mini desktop. My questions/issues are:

1) How do I change/delete the startup screens and animations? I believe I have two splash screens and one animation and I only need one splash screen and may want to eventually change my animation to something like this: Image. How do I do this.

2) Is there a way to control the timing between background changes (I didn't see it in settings) and is there a way to only change the background when I move? For example, when I'm on Movies, I'd like Background #1; when I move to TV Shows, I'd like Background #2; when I move to Pictures, I'd like a random picture from my pictures folder or Background #3.

3) Is there a way to save all my CCM settings and then apply them to my laptop or Android tablet? FYI I know how to do the general backup, but didn't know if there was a way to do a backup of just my CCM settings or just my Add Ons with favorites etc.

Thanks in advance.

BTW what a great skin! Thank you, OP!

As for backgrounds for each home menu item this can also be done from Background Artwork and can be from a folder you create with the backgrounds inside it and they can be randomized as well. You could use a different folder for the random ones. I created a New Folder in the kodi appdata folder called Extra Art. This shows in the Home folder when you use the Background Path as described above.

3) Is there a way to save all my CCM settings and then apply them to my laptop or Android tablet? FYI I know how to do the general backup, but didn't know if there was a way to do a backup of just my CCM settings or just my Add Ons with favorites etc.

In the User folder in Kodi there is a file "guisettings.xml". BEFORE you copy this file from the machine you have setup like you want rename the guisettings.xml file on the destination machine to "guisettings.old" this acts as a backup in the event something goes wrong. Next create or copy the folders you may have made that have your backgrounds to the destination machine. If this screws up all you'll need to do is set the images on the destination machine like you did with the background artwork in skin settings. Keep in mind the Android paths to Kodi is different from Windows but one you are in the Kodi folder they are pretty much the same for finding things and setting this up.

Thanks in advance.

BTW what a great skin! Thank you, OP!

Oh, and the video played at startup is located C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons\skin.ccm.helix\extras\Intro
Dunno what the specs are for the video file but I guess you can create new ones and just name them the same and drop them in this folder BUT if CCM is updated they will be replaced so keep backups handy.

I routinely copy the entire C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Kodi folder to my NAS as a backup and to maintain an exact copy of that setup on each Windows machine I have. There may be some problem moving a Windows Kodi folder to an Android device or vice versa, I've not tried it. I do two separate backups one from the Android device and one from the Windows boxes. No problem (so far) going from Windows to Windows or from Android to Android.

Hope this helps and if someone is reading this and feels I've made a mistake, don't hesitate to correct me....I'm no expert. I just do what I do and if it works, I keep doing it.

RE: CCM for Helix - Klojum - 2015-05-14

G'Morning...

I've been using CCM now for some time in Kodi 15b1 in Ubuntu 14.04, and I never looked back at Confuence. CCM should be at least Isengard's default skin when Kodi 15 goes final. Love the many little tweaks you can do in this skin, great work. Anyways...

All seems to work just fine for me, except one thing: the Favourites button in the bottom left corner does not activate a Favourites menu/listing. It does work in Confluence. CCM does see the favourites as the context menu on an listed item says 'Remove favourite", not "Add as favourite". Hope this little quirck can be fixed in the near future. Cool

EDIT:
Fixed it... Seems like the Favourites button is working after all but only after changing its Favourites Button action, it becomes alive. Seems the initial value after installation was not picked up somehow. Setting it to another action, and after that setting it to the default action (Favourites Window) did the trick. Big Grin

======================= 1)

Well you can go here C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\media and drop a file named splash.png (I think 1280x720 is the size) and it will show instead IF what you're seeing is an image and not a video.

======================= 2)

Yup you can create a folder that contains the TV images and then another folder that contains the movie images, then with the Background Artwork select the Main Menu Item with those up/down arrows, lets say you select Movies, next select Multi Image and point it to the folder you have created with the movie images in it.

======================= 3)

There SHOULD only be one guisettings.xml file in the userdata folder. Kodi won't use guisettings.old that's why I said rename your present guisettings.xml to have the .old extension so it can be used by deleting the one you copy and then renaming it with the .xml extension and you will have lost nada on that machine. I'm confused as to why there would be any .xml files, that you did not put there, on your windows or tablet's desktop....

There's nothing wrong with the backup utility. I just like that if I copy the entire Kodi folder from appdata\roaming folder, I get everything. If I mess around with my Kodi install and get it buggered up, I just delete the Kodi folder and then copy it back from the NAS and I'm back to where I was before I buggered it up. I also think it's a little faster than the backup addon. If you have NAS then you have probably have plenty of room to store the backups of the entire Kodi folder for each device.

RE: CCM for Helix - derwildemann - 2015-05-15

Mudislander, are you out there mate?

I have posted an issue on this forum as well as on the forum "CCM - Confluence Customizable Mod" (see post 1296 on page 87).
I'd very much like to ask for your help to edit the xml-files of the "CCM for Helix" skin. I guess, I could get jump-started if I only knew how the files are interlinked and which is the main xml-file.

Of course I'd also be happy to get some advice and possible links to tutor pages in addition to the above.

RE: CCM for Helix - dkplayaclub - 2015-05-15

I enabled media certification and it doesn't show any flag for R rated movies. G, PG and PG-13 flags show up but on R rated movies there is no flag.
Is this a known issue, or is there a fix?

RE: CCM for Helix - Etzi - 2015-05-15

Installed Global Search script and it does not seem to apper to Home Screen, is there some kind of setting which should be enabled?

On default confluence, it appears by default above the home menu...

RE: CCM for Helix - dkplayaclub - 2015-05-15

I think the skin has global search by default and installing it forces it to hide. It can be turned back on in skin settings.

RE: CCM for Helix - quan3t - 2015-05-16

Hello, is there a way to disable the startup logo? I found the option to disable the video but now I still have two logo when I start kodi. The orange logo then a blue logo. Also is there a way to disable the favorite button? Thanks

RE: CCM for Helix - flhthemi - 2015-05-16

I think if you add this line to advancedsettings.xml it might stop the orange one from showing.

<splash>false</splash>
Dont think there is a way to turn off the favorite button but you can change what it does.
