Hi there great skin mod love the look its a fantastic skin, is there any chance of adding extrathumbs to the info screen view so it looks like this

your view
Image

the extrathumbs view as i know me and a lot of people use the extrthumbs view

Image

also could you add the movie age ratings at the bottom of the screen ?

thanks, keep up the great work love your work

RE: Arctic Zephir MOD 1.7.0 (UPDATED 26/07/15) - meridius - 2015-07-26

Hi there, me again. Would be great if you could do a new extra view like this.

This image shows a view where you see a static fanart image and at the top right above the fanart the disc slides out and then starts to spin the disc and then the movie info under it and some extrathumbs images that fades in and out of a set of different extrathumbs in the folder eg. I have 4 images.

it takes place of 4 posters two wide by two high, its basically icons view with the extra on the right side that replaces 4 posters

Image

or a film reel scrolling left with the extrathumbs in it

Image

what do you think, hope you like it and hope it could be added

thanks, keep up the great work your doing this skin a fantastic upgrade

That view looks familiar, any chance of trying to keep them different from my mod? Or at least acknowledging where you copied it from in the first place? It's getting slightly irritating as its happening quite often, that's at least the 3rd view taken directly from my mod without one word from you about it. You also pm me about things like how to add music logos etc to which I helped you and again not one word of acknowledgement. Sort it out will you, feel free to PM me if you want to discuss this offline.

Also you should really have your stuff on GitHub, this is not commercial software.

This is not the same view, yours inspired me. It's not a pure copy. You said yourself that I could have a look to your mod. You took my flags icons and I said nothing... I share it just for everyone and each can use it as he wants.

I did ask you in this thread if I could use your flags, I don't want to go this route as its kind of annoying to spend a few days designing a view for it to be copied without any acknowledgement. We are all just sharing but let's try and keep the mods using their own inspiration. Like I said that's 3 views taken from my mod. I had a similar experience with my old 1080XF mod and in the end I ditched it. I have looked at the code for your view and it's copy/paste with one or two changes. Let's leave it at that and let both mods grow in their own direction.

Oh man, don´t be so high up in the cloud. Your take this idea from the skin-idea cycle or like the skin substratum. What´s the problem. You take something from his work, he some of yours. If somebody like your skin he will use it. Same for this skin. Btw, in my opinion 1080xf was so overloaded that it was a damn bad mod from the original. But if someone like it he will it use it....

Did you read what I posted? I said there is no acknowledgement at all. It is only polite to ask. When I liked the flags I asked. This has not happened the other way around, it's just plain rude. Even worse is to try and advertise it as something newly designed. And yes agreed 1080xf mod was crap in the end but look at the original to see where my changes ended up in.

RE: Arctic Zephir MOD 1.7.0 (UPDATED 26/07/15) - badaas - 2015-07-26

This is where the original idea for the view in exploded comes from, no code, nothing. I dont even know what software this is. So it is written from scratch, nada.

This is Substratum:

And this is Cycle:

Now do you want to winmerge all 3 codes and check underneath?

Human readable version is here: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/

This license means that you are free to share and adapt the work in any way as long as it follows the three core terms of the license:

1. Attribution - you must give credit and clearly indicate what changes have been made
2. Non-Commercial - you must not use the work for monetary compensation
3. ShareAlike - derivative works must be shared under the same license

So basically any one can use anything they like as long as they give attribution for where it came from and don't ask for money for it.

@Guilouz -- under the terms of this license you are completely entitled to use whatever code you want. However, you *must* give attribution about where it came from.

@im85288 -- you have also broken the terms of this license. You ask for donations which is in violation of the non-commercial terms. I'm pretty sure the base code for your info screens comes from fTV (which is under the same license) without acknowledgement. There have been a few other instances I have also noted. Generally though, you mostly do a decent job of acknowledging what comes from the base skin.

Overall, I'm not that picky about this stuff. I would prefer that people are being creative and sharing their work -- ideas inspire other ideas and also inspire others to share stuff they have done too. That's the point of an open-source community imho. That being said - It is important that *everyone* acknowledges where stuff comes from, even if they have modified it.
