I have ios 9.2. Is there any way to use AirPlay with Kodi? I have it enabled, and I can even select it on my iPhone but it does not not do anything.

Raspbian packages libraries that are use by kodi on their own. Kodi has no control over the fact which version of those libraries they use. Yes you have installed Kodi. Yes this is the Kodi forum. No we can't help you with questions about raspbian configurations

I'm curious, is video streaming video via Airplay actually supposed to work or not? My airplay is working on Kodi 15.2, but for audio only, iOS recognises kodi as an external speaker.
Is airplay support in kodi just audio, or does it support video playback as well?

Hello Team,
I think I have found a good workaround or may be a good way to fix the issue
With a lot of ressearch, I was able to found a turorial on youtube that's work to get air play from ios9 (9.2) to windows (I currently use windows 10, but I'm sure they should work on 7,8,8.1 version also)

The current issue with this solutiton is that the "airplay_new" software has been writed in chineese, but they work perfectly
I'm not an expert, but maybe someone can reverse engineer this app, and build a good integration for kodi (and who knows, build as multi-language supported app)

Hi,
I'm running KODI 15.2 on the Amazon FireTV box and am trying to AirPlay audio from my iPhone 6, running iOS 9.2.
I can see and select KODI as an AirPlay destination from my phone, but no music plays in KODI.
From the previous posts I read, I thought audio was possible...is that no longer the case?

15.2 is to old. Try a jarvis beta build instead.

One more question about current airplay implementation in Kodi:
My understanding:
1) With IOS9 support enabled - audio works from idevice and itunes, but no videos, no photos and audio metadata support
2) With IOS8 support enabled - nothing works from IOS9. Audio, video and photos work from IOS8 and audio/video works from Itunes
What about audio metadata? Is audio metadata working when streaming from Itunes or other airplay senders such as Tuneblade? If yes, with IOS8 or IOS9 mode?

Works only from iTunes or ios Clients with ios 8 and lower ... On ios9 there is no metadata Sent at all now...

Thanks. That's actually no too bad... So as long as I keep IOS8 mode enabled, everything works as before with Itunes and other 3rd party airplay senders (i.e., albumart, viewing progress, etc.). Only nothing works when using airplay from the music/video/photos app from IOS9.
