RE: WMC as the backend - released - krustyreturns - 2013-11-11 (2013-11-11, 19:44)sirmatto Wrote:(2013-11-11, 18:44)krustyreturns Wrote: Recently this issue, in one form or another, keeps coming up - its funny how this stuff seems to come in waves. After you made the 'fix' in wmc and you say serverwmc still has the problem, do you mean the server still has the problem with live-tv or the server still can't record those channels? Its important, because as far as recording goes - your settings in wmc should work even if the recording is requested by xbmc. If its just a live-tv issue after the fix, then its a known problem on my side that I know I need to fix (probably next). So yeah, please let me know. 'thus recording too' does not necessarily follow. When xbmc requests a recording it just asks the windows rec service to schedule it and record it, the same thing wmc does. So if you have it working in wmc now, it should also work in xbmc, if it doesn't then there is another problem. In live tv, the server program handles the tuner allocation and priority itself, and it us currently not importing the preferences set in wmc for which tuners to use for a given channel. That's what I think the problem is (but I have not spent a lot of time on this so far). (2013-11-11, 18:48)mit3gt Wrote: Hey Krusty, I think I may have found another bug. The fix you provided for the aac audio got everything working for my colossus cards. However when playing live tv or a recording I cannot zoom in xbmc. I think this might have something to do with the colossus recording in x264. My qam cards zoom everything just fine (Live TV or recordings), I believe they are using mpeg. The family still watches some things on the sd channels so the zooming is an issue. Trying to keep the WAF high. I sent you 2 video clips a little while ago when you were troubleshooting the aac audio issue. One clip was from a colossus recording while another was from a qam recording. If you still have those, maybe you could take a look? Thanks! If you need me to test anything I would be happy too! I will take a look, but I don't think this something I can control in my realm. If this is a bug it is probably more a wtv/xbmc player problem. But I'll let you know. btw as stated earlier in this thread waf is too hard a goal, my wife refuses to use xbmc and sticks with wmc - and she knows I wrote the code! I go for the kid threshold instead (kaf?). Based on your sig though it looks like she can only use the windows server. Nice sig btw. For recording, the tuner preferences in wmc should be working now (confirmation on this would be nice), but for live-tv you have to wait until I implement it in the server. EDIT: yes, I think I can import the tuner prefs from wmc. RE: WMC as the backend - released - bry - 2013-11-11 (2013-11-11, 18:27)krustyreturns Wrote: Bry and Spinnaker, Thank you! I'll have to give recording on one of the borked channels a go and see if it works. Thanks again for your efforts! Do you have yours setup to stream HD channels? Have you been able to do so without stuttering on ethernet? I am trying to get a yes or no on HD channels nailed down for the wiki. I have not had success but don't want to publish any documentation based on just my experience. Are you seeing the problem with HD on ATV with both live-tv and recordings or just live tv? RE: WMC as the backend - released - scott967 - 2013-11-12 Need help on "Edit Timer" (DialogPVRTimerSettings.xml). What is supposed to be functional on this dialog? At least experimenting with the enable/disable radio button results in an alert that the pvr client doesn't support the function, but after the change the state is changed in the timers list view of MyPVR.xml (shows disabled). Exact alert is "PVR backend does not support this operation. Check the log for details." and the log shows: ERROR: PVR - PVR::CPVRClient::UpdateTimer - addon 'ServerWMC:connected' returned an error: not implemented ERROR: PVR - PVR::CPVRClients::UpdateTimer - cannot update timer on client '1': not implemented How about the other settings on there (not sure how best to test)? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RecordPrefs.xml/DeleteTimer.xml for skin "Ace" Here is a link to a zip containing modified dialogs that I tried to get to conform to Ace style. One thing I couldn't do is figure out a way to set a visibility condition on MyPVR.xml when the dialogs are showing. Because Ace uses transparency on the dialog backgrounds (amount of transparency is a skin setting) having the WMC-pvr dialogs overlay MyPVR makes things a little messy. So I would prefer to mod MyPVR to add a visibility to turn it off but nothing I tried worked (not surprising because I really know nothing about skinning). https://www.dropbox.com/s/3xgeidh4g9xr3xr/WMC-pvr%20dialogs%20for%20skin%20ACE.zip scott s. . Consider me busted - I have not implemented this. I started to once (long before I released the code) but then realized I didn't understand what the point of this dialog is or how people would want to use it. For instance, it allows you to change the channel - well if you change the channel it ceases to be tied to the episode anymore, so then it becomes what? a manual recording? What does it mean to change the name of a timer? I can see use in it for adjusting the start and end times of a timer, but it seemed weird to implement just part of its functions but not all of it. I am open to feedback, let me know what you guys would like this to do. Or how its used in other pvrs. I think you are probably right on this -- I kind of didn't understand how that edit dialog would best be used. But I was thinking the "disable" function would work on a series recording to "turn it off" for a while. Though I guess the way series work in XBMC is that every instance that's found in the EPG shows up as a separate timer, so I don't think "disable" would really do anything worthwhile (easier just to delete any specific instances via the DeleteTimer dialog). As far as the "RecordPrefs" dialog, though. Is the only way to get to that by creating a new timer? It seems like it would possibly be desirable to be able to get to that dialog as an edit dialog in place of the one defined in XBMC. scott s. . So if I have a OUYA client can I just use the android or Linux XBMC plugin? Anyone test this for functionality ? RE: WMC as the backend - released - b_pritchard - 2013-11-12 Hey all, I'm trying to get my client mac connected up to my PC thats running the server, but each time i try and start live TV after i've enabled the client xbmc just crashes out. I know i need to post logs, but I can't seem to find where those are getting saved at on OSX. Has anyone had any luck or issues w/running the osx client? And if someone could point me to where the logs are saved (for mac) i could probably be more helpful and post those. ![]() info about my machine setup.. 2011 Mac Mini i5 XBMC 12.2 Osx 10.8.5 REALLY love the plugin though.. its absolutely awesome on my pc! It seems like it would possibly be desirable to be able to get to that dialog as an edit dialog in place of the one defined in XBMC. You can't substitute dialogs, basically xbmc puts up the dialog and then - after the user closes it - xbmc presents the info from the dialog to the client addon. At this point the client can put up its own dialog - that's the trick I used to do recording and delete series. So to do what you are asking, you would still have to get through the weird edit-timer dialog before you get to the record dialog. It sounds like what you want is a way to edit series recording timers, right? There maybe another way to do this through a custom pvr-specific menu choice. I have thought that it would also be nice to have a series priority setting window here too similar to wmc. Can't say about apple, but I really only want the server log to figure out what is going on, and you get to that through the 'debug' tab in serverwmc. Have you set credentials for the apple client? Check the wiki pages and wiki discussion thread for more info. (2013-11-12, 17:27)bry- Wrote:(2013-11-12, 15:20)ktjensen Wrote: 1341 messages and still not a sticky to the top of the forum. To answer the question though, we do not have an android client and I don't think linux will work. RE: WMC as the backend - released - TheImmortal - 2013-11-12 The PVR addon can now be installed and updated through my repository.
