appreciate a little input:
has anyone seen a successful scrobble for a virtual library item added via add-on (.strm file)?
just trying to confirm something, thx
important note - when played from kodi library, not from within an add-on
RE: [RELEASE] trakt.tv tv/movie scrobbler - darzur - 2015-01-25
It looks like dev branch isn't scrobbling TV Shows. Just watched first episode of The Americans and it didn't show up in my trakt.tv history. Below is my KODI log and I don't see anything related to trakt plugin during movie watching. Then I've tried to sync manually, but it didn't scrobbled too.

Hi S7eele,
I don't even know what is strm file. It was regular mkv file played from local (NFS share mounted in local fileystem) library. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but in old addon scrobbling happened automatically after 70% of episode/movie.
P.S. Juast read about strm files. In my case it was local file.

Are you mixing up scrobble and watched?
You start to scrobble when your watching anything in the best case from the first minute.
It automatically gets marked as watched by trakt if you watch 80% (changed in v2)
RE: [RELEASE] trakt.tv tv/movie scrobbler - YippeeKaiay - 2015-01-25
Great work on getting sync back up and running. I also get trakt error when I start watching a .strm file but with sync back up at least it will mark it then. I don't think the exclusion list is working tho as I have has a load of tv show in my excluded usb drive show up in recently watched on the trakt website. Thanks again

You start to scrobble when your watching anything in the best case from the first minute.
It automatically gets marked as watched by trakt if you watch 80% (changed in v2)
Didn't know that. So in my case it wasn't scrobbled (see my log) nor marked as watched. I've changed threshold to 70% so maybe thats a problem.

Hello, ive been watching this thread, and the trakt VIP forum, since trakt updated the website and the trakt addon broke.
i've downloaded the latest dev branch and im currently getting this error when running a manual sync.
http://pastebin.com/mJLZx0hm
this is running on a raspberry pi, when i run this, then the progress bar is stuck on 20%
can you advise - let me know if you need any more info.
btw, Razzee, great work picking this up.

thats consistent with what ive seen, the virtual library items (.strm file) are neither being scrobbled or marked as watched when played, however things are being synced now so, hooray @Razze
@darzur many kodi add-ons provide the ability to add items to your kodi library, in many/most cases this is done by creating a file with a .strm extension in a directory generally specified in the add-ons settings, the .strm file contains the details regarding location of the media so kodi can play it, the directory is then added to those that are read by kodi when creating or updating the library, in this particular discussion the file u played from ur nfs mounted drive would b cosidered a 'local' file or library item
edit - obviously all of this is my understanding of it in very basic terms, i always reserve the right to be mistaken and welcome any oportunity to learn from these mistakes, in other words, if im wrong pls correct/clarify

.strm are simply not seen as "proper" files in kodi so ignore them for now

Just watched first episode of The Americans and it didn't show up in my trakt.tv history. Below is my KODI log and I don't see anything related to trakt plugin during movie watching. S7eele Wrote:was it an item added to your library via add-on (.strm file)? sorry but i had trouble editing my last post, i ask if its a 'virtual' library item added via add-on (.strm file) because afaik the add-on is still not scrobbling them, works great when playing local media but doesnt scrobble .strm files, this is a known issue, i asked earlier but jic it was missed i will ask again:
has anyone using the razzee -dev branch seen a successful scrobble of a 'virtual' library item added via add-on (.strm file)?
appreciate any feedback, even if its to confirm u see the same thing
I'm also running the razzee -dev branch from Git and my library consists of .strm files from Genesis. Can also confirm that it is not scrobbling or anything. My trakt account online is empty, so not working at all for me.
