Alanon, a little off topic, but can you tell me the custom command for creating a manual shortcut that opens the DialogGameControllers.xml. Same as if I navigate to Settings/system/input/configure attached controllers?

Thanks to you both I was able to perform the proper file operations. The Menu Build error has seemed to stop however when I click on the Customise Home Menu option to create my menus, nothing happens? Any idea as to what may be going on there?

I found a view bug in the mod. When I use a list as a widget ut shows me like that:
But in original Eminence2 it looks like that:
In the original its also smoother. Is there a way fix that like copy the needed files from the original skin?

THere's an option in the skin settings. Looks like you have the mod version set to bevilled.

Managed to get into the Home Menu Customisation screen by hitting the back button after pressing the option and then unfortunately got the Build Menu error again. Will try the procedure again in case I've done something wrong. I'd just wait for an official fix if this skin wasn't so damn good

Scrap that, I seem to have got it working. Must have been "user error"
So fiddly trying to edit files on the Shield. Thanks again for everyone's help.

Apologies for yet another post but alas it just threw up the Build Menu error again. Pretty sure I have followed all the steps correctly. Anyone else on a Shield here haveing success?

Hi,
Long time lover of this skin but I'm assuming from above the latest Leila RC update has broken it. Funnily enough I have multiple profiles and while each time I restart Leila in an existing profile Eminence 2 gets disabled. If I switch to another profile Eminence 2 is working just fine. Its just when I restart Kodi with that Profile active, Kodi then disables it. So it apparently works fine, but Kodi has shut it off.
Updating Eminence says there are no updates available. Is it likely to be much time before an update is offered?
I should try confirm is this the correct thread for my version of Eminence? I have 3.0.2.

Damn. Think I'm screwed. Found the 3.03 version and copied that over and installed.
Now refused to build the menus and only way to exit is close shield down completely.
No way to change to another profile (although not sure if that would be of use)
Is there a Safe Boot option for kodi to stop a skin loading? I think I'm going to have to wipe all of it.

So I've crashed my Shield Kodi install with 3.0.3.
Can't do anything within kodi as the menus won't build (so no "installing"). The solution seems to be on this forum with a windows based post.
Just not sure how to translate that to Android speak. Can't install, only copy files to the Kodi Addon Directory. Do you have any tips on what I need to do?

I'll release a test update today, if you're feeling lucky, you could try and update then, and see if anything is fixed.

Thanks, Its late here so I'll hold off deleting the skin and see what you have.
I think I worked out most of your solution except for the following bit:
If you find Eminence unusable in your scenario, it should be OK to revert to Estuary, as most of these changes can be effected regardless of the currently active skin.
First, install the dependency, then the script.skinshortcuts, and make sure that you don't get any installation/update errors.
Just couldn't figure out how to INSTALL anything when the skin is locked up. I assume deleting the skin and going back to estuary would give me access to those files install as zip?
I'll wait for 3.0.4

Perhaps also remove 3.0.3 from the repository?
Out of interest, I'm wondering how 3.0.3 ever got released? Assume it must have worked without issue on your setup Alanon? or was it the most recent Leila RC that broke it subsequently?

3.0.4 has landed. Trying it out now. I assume I have to get in to Estuary Skin to be able to load in this update to the Eminence mod?
I tried renaming the entire skin:
\\SHIELD\internal\Android\data\org.xbmc.kodi\files\.kodi\addons\old - skin.eminence.2.mod
But when I log into kodi it still brings me to the busted Eminence 2 Mod that can't build menus (or do anything). What else do I need to do to "delete" the skin and return to the default mod?
