EDIT: Works like a charm, great work!

While we're on the subject: when I start an episode via this widget it prompts me to choose an action, but the only action available is 'Play with Kodi.' Is there a way to skip that 'choose action' dialog as there is only 1 option.
Looked through the tmdb helper settings but couldn't find a way to configure this, setting up a default player for episodes only gives the option 'clear default'.

Ah, I didn't really think of this scenario. I'm so used to having Netflix and Youtube in there that it didn't even cross my mind that there would be a scenario where there was only one option.

Can you test latest latest? There should be an option under player settings now to "Automatically use player if only one available". Enable that and if there is only one option TMDbHelper will choose it automatically.
When only using one player the Choose Action popup still appears even if nothing is found. In this example I selected an 'Anticipated' Movie which of course won't be found, but this could also apply where any Movie/Show is not available. Could a tweak be made where this popup doesn't appear if there is nothing to display? We have a notification in the top-right showing Item not found so it shouldn't leave the user in any doubt.

I wasn't aware that there's a good functioning Netflix add-on available, I'm just playing around with that now so maybe this new option you rolled out isn't necessary anymore for me. Oops! Wink

Now to figure out how to get these Netflix episodes to appear in the tmdb helper widget.. "hooray" for this quarantine and constantly playing around with my Kodi setup Big Grin.

Yes! I just installed that some time ago Smile
Now I'm fiddling around with the 'next episodes' widget from tmdb helper. It's not really working as I would want. The Skin Service Helper had a widget for next episodes in the local library which was ideal, but I want my current setup to work with only default and tmdb helper widgets haha Big Grin.

(2020-05-12, 09:46)jurialmunkey Wrote: That's really strange. I initially thought maybe it was an issue with how the skin was playing items from the info dialog -- but I realised that you are saying the items play fine, but then stop after a short time which is really odd.

My first thought is the same as yours - I'm struggling to see why it would be a skin issue! However, if it works in Estuary and not here, then it does indicate something skin related -- might not be the skin directly doing something wrong but maybe some little quirk with an unusual method triggering some weird behaviour in Kodi.

I think a debug log showing the item stopping would be useful here.
Thanks for getting back to me. I've watched 2 episodes today and both played flawlessly on the default skin - i'll stick with it today and tomorrow and then see what happens on AH on Thursday. If it drops again i'll send over a debug log, thank you.

Just a note - everything I've played on AH has been played from the home widget. Not sure if that makes a difference?

It shouldn't make a difference playing from the home widgets -- In terms of the click action on the widgets, it should be exactly the same as Estuary. There's obviously differences in how widgets are handled between the skins, but in terms of the actual click action there's no overriding so it should all work the same way since Kodi is controlling what the click does.

If you were playing from the info dialog, however, that might be a different story since the play button there is different from Estuary.
Hi jurialmunkey,
I've been using Estuary for the past couple of days without issue so I switched back to AH and watched 2 movies today - both without any issue! I guess it's possible I was simply having some network issues, although it's odd that it was only the Nvidia Shield experiencing the drop outs. If the issue returns i'll let you know but for now I think it's fair to move on (as nobody else has reported the same).

Thanks for the help anyway!

RE: Arctic Horizon - Edworld - 2020-05-13

Where are the widgets saved? Is there a widget expert willing to share the widget file settings? I feel I am missing out on functionality....

Jurialmunkey: How hard would it be to create a Director's cut setting to mirror the settings you use?

Thanks

I always think Customising skins is a very personal thing. We all have different preferences about colours, fanarts, widgets & even addons used. I could zip up my install for you but I doubt you'd want the exact same look & use the same widgets/addons in the same way I use them. Honestly I'd just have a play about with it yourself & see what works best for you.

As for the Director's Cut, I believe the default settings are currently set to how JM uses it, so resetting to defaults would probably achieve this Smile

Is it possible to have a delete button added to the recording information page? Currently it only has the option to play the recorded show. I know that it can be deleted from the context menu but a simple click to delete would greatly help the WAF.

Alternatively, on the list of recorded shows can there be the option to display the context menu when a recored item is clicked? So instead of going to the item information page it gives you a menu - Play, Delete, etc.

Do other skins have this option to delete? I don't really use the recordings feature very much in the PVR, so I'm not very familiar with the functions -- would be useful if there's another skin that I can look at how it's done.

Good question. I haven’t used the PVR much in KODI either. My wife wanted the option to record. I loaded Embury and that’s the same as AZ:H. Maybe it’s just how it is. I just thought it would be easier to use a button rather than the context menu.

Widgets are saved in skinshortcuts addon_data folder. Anything with a -1.xml is a widget setup for the corresponding main menu item (widget layout is essentially a second level submenu). Additional properties are saved in the skin.arctic.horizon.properties file in that folder.

In terms of skin settings, FXB78 is correct - I use the default settings, but with wall disabled as I prefer the alphabet/scrollbar/filter approach to finding something in a big list.

In terms of widget / main menu my setup is fairly straight forward.

All my main menu items open the submenu popup.

Widget layout:
Movies
- TMDbHelper > Randomised > Popular Movies
- TMDbHelper > Trakt > Trending Movies
- TMDbHelper > Randomised > Based on Recently Watched Movies
- Autowidget > Various Trakt Lists (e.g. Big 4 Academy Awards; Best Sci-Fi movies etc.)
- Autowidget > Various Genre and Studio widgets (e.g. Studio Ghibli Films, Animation, Documentaries, etc.)
- TMDbHelper > Randomised > Popular Trakt List
- Recently Added Movies
- TMDbHelper > Trakt > Watchlist
- TMDbHelper > Movie Genres (icon)

TVShows
- TMDbHelper > Trakt > Trending (banner)
- TMDbHelper > Trakt > Recently Watched Shows (landscape)
- TMDbHelper > Trakt > Calendar > Last Fortnight (landscape)
- TMDbHelper > Trakt > In-Progress (landscape)
- TMDbHelper > Trakt > Watchlist
- Autowidget > Various TMDbHelper widgets based on Networks (e.g. Netflix, HBO, Amazon)
- Recently Added Episodes
- TMDbHelper > TVShow Genres (icon)

Music
- Random Artists (square)
- Top100 Albums (square)

Addons
- Recently Played TV Channels (square)
- Video Addons (square sorted by last used).

Search
- Fullscreen widget - Random Movies

Settings
- Weather widget

In My Movies submenu
- TMDbHelper subsection (e.g. Movies section)
- TMDbHelper search
- TMDbHelper genres
- Trending Lists (movies submenu only)
- TMDbHelper > Trakt > Recently Watched
- TMDbHelper Discover
- Library All Titles

TV submenu is the same except that Trending Lists is replaced by Next Aired (Trakt) calendar.

Addons submenu has various different addon sections plus commands to install from repo etc.

Search has no submenu -- just calls Horizon search menu.

Settings has shortcuts to things like filemanager.

I was using showcase hubs for a while instead of popup submenu but I found that mostly interact with widgets or info dialogs, so it was simpler just to have popup submenu.
