RE: MediaElch - MediaManager for Mac/Linux/Win (with music library scraping) - BuSHari - 2015-02-17

Hello Komet,

I really love that Media Manager, I currently using the meta <browser> manager.

And i think there some features that can be really useful for a complete and great manager:
1. Option to enable Automatically Rename for Folder/Filenames
2. Automatically Trailer download with a default quality to choose
3. Create a Monitor folder that would monitor every file that inside and scrape it, and move it to its destination.
4. Enable to scrape movie collections (TMDB V3 allow it)
5. To be able to extract the Movie/TV name from a file name, for example: 'Horrible.Bosses.2.2014.720p.BluRay.x264-SPARKS' => 'Horrible Bosses 2'
6. Scrape all Episodes automatically when scraping a TV show.
7. Add Date Added tag to the nfo file <dateadded>

Thanks...

Any idea what could be the prob?
I'm using 2.2.2 btw.
Thanks!

same problem here...maybe(?) a short movie title problem. experience same problem with movie "ray" and "stay"

another issue:
multiscraping 'certification' (only) from moviedb results in empty values/no results.....when i scrape the same movies one by one i get the correct results.

There is a problem with TMDBs API. The search results are split into pages and even if I request page 2, 3, 4 and so on it returns that the page is 1 (but it really is page 2 with different results). I've just made a fix so that MediaElch doesn't trust the page number given from the TMDB API.

The problem is that it doesn't show the poster information.

http://www.adultempire.com/previews/1723383/built-for-speed-porn-movies.html#preview

I have the idea that your scraper is expecting the next link:
http://imgs1.adultempire.com/products/83/1723383h.jpg

Perhaps the website did change the source a little bit.

I know how to solve the problem by hand.

And add the poster by hand too.
Built For Speed-poster.jpg

But that's very time consuming.
Two days past, no response?
I know my question was about adult movies, but this scraper does seam to be a solution for adult movies.

Edit :
The hotmovies scraper hasn't been working for months, the last updates didn't change that.

Please be patient: this is no paid support, I'm just writing here in my spare time and an answer can take more than two days...
I'm not using the adult scrapers and I wasn't aware that there is something broken. Looks like not many people are using them because nobody has reported that the hotmovies scraper isn't working. I'll look into it later but there are more important things.

Now i'm doing tests to replace another scraper i use to scrape Movies.
But i'm missing several features to get the perfect match:
  • possibility to scrape "release date".
  • from IMDB scraper...download "cast" and actors thumbs ONLY with images.
  • split "certification USA" and "mpaa USA" in XBMC format.
  • auto-download extrafanart.
  • better management to download trailers locally. From www.youtube.com is a very complicated to implement, because google is constantly changing things...but

I'm not sure, but i think KODI doesn't manage "release date" ... but i'll like to get this field scraped.
If i download-scrape from IMDB the "cast" and actor thumbs i get a large list of actors where some there isn't picture.
i must to download one-by-one extrafanart for every movie...there are and automate action?

i'm gonna pay for this features!!
  • I also don't know if the release date is used by Kodi. Maybe someone else can check it? It doesn't hurt if we would store it in an nfo file but I would like to be sure that there isn't already a tag inside the nfo for storing the release date.
  • I will add an option to only set actors with images
  • Could somebody point out the "XBMC format"? I'm not aware of it...
  • Auto-Downloading extra fanart is already on the roadmap and is already possible for music artists. I would just like to find a way to skip images that are already present. Think about the following: You want 5 extra fanarts for every movie but there are only 3 available. Some time later you scrape again and then these 3 images should not be downloaded again...
  • Downloading trailers from Youtube won't be possible in the near future. I don't want to fiddle around and find a way to download the videos...

1. On the roadmap for a later version
2. Maybe but I can't say when and if this is coming. I don't know how many people are downloading trailers
3. No. MediaElch was made as a "manual" media manager. My intention was to be able to manually choose images and everything else. If you want an automated solution why don't you just use Kodi and let it scan for new files every hour?
4. On the roadmap.
5. Something like this is already possible with the "ignored words" which can be setup in MediaElchs settings (add 720p, BluRay, x264, Sparks)
6. On the roadmap Wink
7. Is Kodi reading this tag?

Any updates on the sync with XBMC/Kodi problems addressed earlier?

Great, thanks for the fast response, here some answers:

2. it will be great if it can be implanted
5. ok i understand but this is not what i meant cause that list need to be updated every time, how about adding a feature that will recognize the Year (4 digit) in the name and will extract the movie name with the year?
7. Yes its reading that, see here http://kodi.wiki/view/NFO_files/TV_shows (at the end of the code)

Komet is just ignoring my info...or maybe he is hard at work trying to figure out why it doesn't work, after all the info I've given on this issue.HuhRofl

Hi,

I have problems with movie sets artworks.
I searched this thread and the official one and encountered people having the same issues(althoug it seems to have been solved) with TMDb scrapper unable to download Movie Set Artworks. The nfo file downloaded is correctly adding the right collection but no artworks downloaded.
I tried with the two options (in the movie folder or separted artworks folder) to no avail.
Is it a bug from TMDb API as it seems even Kodi has a hard time grabbing this stuff or is it MediaElch related ?

Any help greatly appreciated.

PS: And yes i know i can do this manually inside Kodi or even using Movie Set Automator Addon, but I am looking for a "Fire and Forget" tool and MediaElch does evrything great except this.

Thanks Big Grin

hey there if u find anything i would love a copy or the info i have just started using mediaelch and i love it but it need more tv scrappers and like u said a nice way to get collection pics

RE: MediaElch - MediaManager for Mac/Linux/Win (with music library scraping) - Namoi - 2015-02-18

But it should grab the artworks. Problem seems to be the TMDb API is broken or has changed the way one must request the artworks...

ah see

RE: MediaElch - MediaManager for Mac/Linux/Win (with music library scraping) - orbtwin - 2015-02-21

thanks for the answers Komet.
In fact, the option i'm most interested in it's the actor download images from IMDB only if it has images.
Download extrafanarts isn't so important for me, and actually i'm thinking not to use, and delete the extrafanart folders for my movies. Because in a few cases i injoy it in Kodi.
I'm not sure too about the differences for Kodi in "certification" and MPAA. In fact, if i scrape only a movie with MediaElch, then Kodi shows the PG-13, PG, etc... It's enough i think.
"release date" i'm not sure if Kodi is using in any way. Ember scrapes altough.
OK for the not youtube trailers

Waiting seriously for the actors images from IMDB

Thanks
