New Home for Ember Media Manager (Official Thread) - bodrick - 2011-12-14 I've decided its time to give Ember a new home. I've taken it upon myself to not only pick up the code where it was left off and attempt to continue development of it, but I've also create a new site for Ember so that it can be supported easily with forums, a wiki, bug and project tracking. Right now there isn't much to look at, but the source is there and available also on github. I plan to work on a release in the next few days. Goals To continue development of EmberMM, because its a great product, that in my opinion is the most stable and useful media manager available, I've tried all others, but yet still come back to Ember. To provide a site where users can post questions, provide feedback, and in the long run provide an area where users can go for howto's, wiki forums etc. Links Main Website : ember.purplepig.net Site is back with new host GitHub : https://github.com/bodrick/Ember-MM Current Release : [Release] Ember Media Manager 1.3.x - krish_2k4 - 2011-12-15 this needs to happen! and im glad its being picked up for development. good luck with it. - ZombieRobot - 2011-12-15 great news good luck - fonzie - 2011-12-15 Wow this is good news indeed. Hope all goes well, and of course good luck. - flipped cracker - 2011-12-15 I was just thinking about trying some other managers since ember wasn't being developed anymore. hopefully i won't have to. good luck! - bodrick - 2011-12-15 I've pushed out a new release that updates a few things. A quick summary : 1) Updated to the latest version of sqlite library 2) Updated to the latest mediainfo library 3) Removed the check for .NET within code at launch, not 100% reliable. 4) Cleaned up references 5) Other miscellaneous stuff I can't think off at this point The downloads can be found at the project site http://ember.purplepig.net/ - Livin - 2011-12-15 is this based on the original EMM or EMM-r? - shaktoo - 2011-12-15 yes could you please clarify as asked by livin as well is this EMM or EMM-r? In any case kudos to you and straight away a few requests=== ( will put on tracker as well) 1- Auto Update Library on addition of any new files 2- Auto scrape ( as per predefined parameters) 3- notify ( if seleceted e.g xbmc) 4- download extrathumbs AND extrafanart - snelvuur - 2011-12-15 Thanks for the effort bodrick. - bodrick - 2011-12-15 Livin Wrote:is this based on the original EMM or EMM-r? Its based on EMM-r since that was the code I could find, and seems to be the most current version available. - bodrick - 2011-12-15 shaktoo Wrote:yes could you please clarify as asked by livin as well is this EMM or EMM-r? Sounds like some good suggestions. I'll look out for them on the tracker, I have a few kinks to work out with my releases first, but then once I've gotten the kinks worked out I'll get to adding new features. - PogMoThoin - 2011-12-15 I updated from 1.2 earlier, now I'm getting errors Quote:Title: Error - deh2k7 - 2011-12-15 bodrick Wrote:I've decided its time to give Ember a new home. I look forward to seeing this great project gain some additional TLC - kri kri - 2011-12-15 Both links to download are giving me files not found errors. - bodrick - 2011-12-15 kri kri Wrote:Both links to download are giving me files not found errors. Seems like the host was having some memory troubles, restarting the app fixed the problem for now, I might have to find a different solution for hosting the project, but hopefully I can figure out a way to improve performance etc. |
