Media stored on USB hard drive not easily accessible - Dan3088 - 2012-10-04

So I have a Samsung USB hard drive hooked up to my raspberry pi running xbmc but to access the content on the drive I have to go and select the drive then the folder then the sub folder to get the movie list up. Can I set it up to just have my videos on the home screen I apologise if this is the most newb question ever written

Have you added the movies subfolder (on your USB drive) as an XBMC video source and then scanned your movies into your library? Once that's done, you should be able to access your movies directly from the XBMC home page without having to drill down a file list to locate the physical files.
