XBMC Beta 3 - Nexus 7 - sdsnyr94 - 2012-12-10 I have XBMC Beta 3 running on my Nexus 7 tablet... great job.... menus are snappy, navigation seems pretty seemless.... can't wait until this is a little more mature! I have tried searching for this, but with the wide assortment of devices running Android, some of these threads become a little confusing... so please excuse a couple of question that may have been asked before: - Does the Nexus 7 support hardware decode, or have I missed a setting somewhere? I am assuming that it is not supported as of yet, based on the poor playback of files... both through WIFI and Local. - These same files play fine in MXPlayer through Wifi... is it possible to set an external player to be used for the time being? I have seen unofficial builds out there (through a Google Search) that supposedly have it working... but is there an actual supported method? It would be great if I could at least use my Database to track what has been already watched. Thanks. RE: XBMC Beta 3 - Nexus 7 - mockingbirdblue - 2012-12-11 no hw decoding yet, and as for the external players it can be done but not really a "supported method" (advised) but a supported feature and alternative for android HW playback on some devices, Nexus 7 being one (or any that can play HD using a supported player). You can search around for difference tutorials on using external players + XBMC builds with wondershare, mxplayer, etc..... RE: XBMC Beta 3 - Nexus 7 - sdsnyr94 - 2012-12-11 Thanks,... right after posting this someone posted a "How-To" on how to do it, but I am still not having any luck. The issue I seem to be running into is that I cannot find a build with MX player that is Beta 3 or later. My nexus 7 is running Android 4.2 and XBMC will not run anything earlier than Beta 3. RE: XBMC Beta 3 - Nexus 7 - Struikrover - 2012-12-11 Installed the Beta 3 on my nexus 7 and all is going well. She fires up easily and navigation is snappy using Confluence and Touch, but having a few issues. Not using the video yet for above reasons but I have added my mp3 library via SMB (media server), and streaming it via wifi causes incredible stutter...8) Anyone else experiencing this issue - are there any settings I can change to improve it perhaps? I'll try to play a locally stored mp3 to check whether wifi is the culprit but I doubt it as streaming 720p movies works excellent in other media players. Can we report to the github for XBMC android for testing and reporting issues? Does XBMC Android generate any logs we can investigate? Never report issues on github RE: XBMC Beta 3 - Nexus 7 - Ned Scott - 2012-12-12 Use http://trac.xbmc.org (log-in with the same username and password that you use on the forums). Though generally it's a good idea to post about bugs on the forums first to see if others have issues and to make sure various things about the bug (is it android specific, does it apply to the latest nightly build (wiki), etc). If you're sure about it, file a bug report on trac and that will make sure it doesn't get lost. For logs, XBMC always creates xbmc.log (wiki). See Android_FAQ#Logs (wiki) for location (it's a little tricky to find sometimes, but you can also use the debug add-on uploader to get access to the log). RE: XBMC Beta 3 - Nexus 7 - Struikrover - 2012-12-12 Hi guys, Been playing around with it a bit more. Still the same issue, music (mp3) stutters either via SMB network share or when playing locally. This is both when I listen through headphones or via bluetooth speakers. My Nexus is running 4.2.1 JB and I have uninstalled all video/music playing apps that might be causing a conflict. Tried to generate a log but I can't find it anywhere in the specified folders mentioned in the Android Faq. I then installed the debug add-on uploader to get it that way, but whenever I prompt it to send it to my email addy it comes up with error message script failed:addon.py. XBMC runs smooth as silk otherwise. When I turn on debugging it says LOG:/data/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/cache/temp/xbmc.log, but there doesn't seem to be any such folder? I tried with total commander and EFS file explorer with hidden files on but no sign of that log anywhere. Searching for it with the spyglass finds nothing either, Memory usage is around 68%, with 316MB free, and individual cpu cores 70-0% (CPU-XBMC = 65%, but occasionally jumps up to 110%). Even so, music stutters consistently also when XBMC core is around 80-90%. I am stumped here, anything else I can try? I also reinstalled XBMC for Android and replaced Beta3 with RC1 - same story. =/ Many thx |
