script.plugin.common.cache fails - penone - 2013-01-05

Installed RC 3 and a video add on. When I start up xbmc I immediately get an error - script.plugin.common.cache failed. Anyone else having this issue?

Noticed it, it will constantly error until you uninstall it - then for reliant software like 1**********, just uninstall and install again to handle the .py error. Not sure whats causing it though.

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately that did not do the trick.

I'm thinking it has something to do with permissions but am not sure.

I have tested RC3 on my MK808 and for sure that is what I did. Had the error - disabled the script.plugin.common.cache - and then reinstalled 1******* overall and it was working. I noticed also that the common cache was downloaded and initiated when i started 1channel which made me try the uninstall. I did not check logs but I will uninstall it to recreate and see the logs to see whats causing it. (I checked xbmc.old but there was nothing in there as I have rebooted a few times and it only drafts your last session).

Ohhhh. You reinstalled the addon. I thought you meant to reinatall common cache. Let me try again when I get home.

no 1channel, icefilms, navi-x, etc talk on xbmc.org... if there are issues with the common cache script then please troubleshoot using an add-on that we do allow discussion about.

I also get this error. I didn't follow all the discussion above. Can someone give some ideas how to fix this error?

RE: script.plugin.common.cache fails - mockingbirdblue - 2013-01-05

I apologize Ned I did not know that - I am not talking about them specifically but the dependencies concerning the common cache - this was my method to fix it but I will look in the common cache error to see what the root issue is since I am in the office and not home to try it out and relate to the first poster. Once again my fault for the problem I created mentioning non-supported add-ons but it was my personal quickfix to get the reliant add-ons for the cache. kind regards.

Problem solved by rolling back plugin.common.cache to earlier version.

To which version? I've got fresh install of XBMC (RC2) with 2.5.0 version of this plugin. How can I downgrade?

you need an upgrade to 2.5.1

Automatically or do I have to force this upgrade?
