Preserve mythtv channel numbers? - fbacher - 2013-02-08
(Ubuntu 12.10 with XBMC Frodo 12.0 & mythtv 26.0)
From the documentation it seems I should be able to keep my XBMC PVR channel numbers the same as mythtv (I have only one PVR instance, mythtv, with a 4-tuner card, all using the same set of channels). I have tried clearing out the old channel definitions in XBMC but I keep getting channels starting at "1". Is there some secret chant that I should know about?

I did have everything set as you had in your image EXCEPT I also had "Synchronise channel groups with backends". After deselecting that and reseting my PVR database it appears fine. However, since I did not verify that the problem existed immediately prior to this change I can't swear that some other action wasn't responsible (restarting a few times, etc.).
In any event, Thanks! My problem went away.

I just got it to work. Do the following:
1. Go to System/Settings
2. Click on TV
3. Go all the way to the bottom left menu and Change the Settings Level to Advanced Settings
4. Go back to TV/General
5. Select Use Channel Order from backend and Use Channel Numbers from Backend.
This works!!!
