Android Stick Gamepad - brianljnr - 2013-04-04

Hi All, Would anyone tell me if I got an Android Stick PC and installed XBMC on it, would I be able to install games on it from Google Play Store and if so, Can you get a gamepad or controller like for (PS2 or 3 or XBOX) with an usb.

Many Thanks in Advance

Gamestick is what you'd probably be interested in, the stick comes with a pad and is meant to play basic google store games that support a gamepad with their own curated store alongside it for those games, they have also signed a support deal with Pivos for XBMC.

Anything else is going to be a more messy DIY affair.

Yes, several android games have controller support. I have a Pivos XIOS, connected a cheap bluetooth USB dongle, and can use a standard bluetooth gamepad and play emulators, for example. Lots of other games have controller support too, and there's even some apps that will route game controller buttons to simulated screen presses. It should also work with some USB controllers.

Not really. I don't doubt that Ouya and Gamestick will have more controller-opimized games, but there's actually a ton of Android games that support controllers.
