Seems Montellese is now owner of this bug for 3 weeks. Would be great to see some action on this.

So with feature freeze for 13 happening and the trac bug not having a milestone yet, does this mean, this won't make it into XBMC 13?

Well the trac bug and the PR discussion are an extensive read. But what I can say is, that with Kodi 15.0, album covers do show, even if the folder structure to those files has a guy like "Arvo Pärt" in between.
Considering this resolved.
