backspace key not working - eskro - 2013-05-02
hi guys, im reading many stuff on the net about some keyboard keys not working right withxbmc on android.
is this something that can be 'officially' fixed in a futur build?

helpful would be which exact keys are missing (and where) and creating a trac ticket.
including some logs
They are probably missing in the keymapping

I'm running the Gotham Alpha 2 with StageFright and some keys on my keyboard don't work either.
Here are the keys that don't work on a standard keyboard:
Escape (back)
Shift is actually left arrow
Backspace is actually delete
The power button on my air mouse doesn't work either, but then again that's because most keyboards don't have a power button.

eskro did you create a trac ticket for this? its really annoying
i can see in the xbmc log that xbmc thinks its receiving the "delete" key when i press the backspace button on my keyboard.
i have used keyboard.xml to get the backspace button to go "up one level" or "parentdir" but no matter what i do i can't get the backspace button to delete to the left like it should in the xbmc virtual keyboard.
here's a good guide on changing the android keymapings if you have a rooted device: http://droid-den.com/android-guides/guide-how-to-remap-keys-on-a-hardware-keyboard/ unfortunately mine isnt rooted so i couldnt go down this route. i had to just use keyboard.xml
i used the key test app mentioned and found that android is indeed receiving "delete" when the backspace key is pressed.

i can not type out with keyboard, but only with the board on the screen.
