USB -> Serial, and editing keyboard.xml - craigbeat - 2013-05-22 Hi there, I currently run Openelec on x86 hardware. Recently my watercooler has died, and I'm in the market for another silent solution. Android boxes look exciting, because I can run apps as well as just media center. I have a few questions on this before I do. 1) Can I use the 'switch resolution to match video option? 2) Can I use the 'sync video to display' option? 3) Will it run 24fps at 24Hz? 4) Can I edit keyboard.xml and remote.xml so I can issue custom commands? 5) I currently hook my PC up to my TV with serial so I can auto switch TV off and on, and switch brightness, etc, on switch to 3D. If I have a USB to serial cable, can I control my TV via XBMC and android by using .py / .sh files? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! One thing I absolutely NEED is the ability to run a web browser. On x86 Openelec, I have Opera running. I think this would rule out me running a Linux build of XBMC on one of these devices (correct me if I'm wrong on this). |
