Visualisation for Pi's GPU? - jamieburchell - 2013-08-18 So it's my understanding that ProjectM doesn't run on the Pi because it would require a more powerful CPU. Can it be ported to run on its capable GPU? Are there any plans for visualisations that would run on the Pi? So far we only have waveform and OpenGL bars. ![]() RE: Visualisation for Pi's GPU? - Hedda - 2013-08-20 The very latest projectM code from http://projectm.sourceforge.net should build for OpenGL ES 2.0 and Raspberry Pi GPU does support OpenGL ES 2.0 so it should work http://elinux.org/Raspberry_Pi_VideoCore_APIs I don't know if Raspberry Pi CPU is powerful enough but projectM latest code with OpenGL ES 2.0 support should also add the possibility of iOS and Android support too I am sure that just as many Apple TV 2 and Pivos Android users as Raspberry Pi users would appreciate projectM visualizer on their platforms RE: Visualisation for Pi's GPU? - jamieburchell - 2013-08-24 That sounds promising. How could I get this working on OpenELEC for the Pi? Or do I need to wait for it to be part of the distro? RE: Visualisation for Pi's GPU? - desperado77 - 2013-08-24 There is already a feature request http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=166261 +1 This would be awesome, specialy for the Raspberry Pi. RE: Visualisation for Pi's GPU? - mad-des - 2015-02-10 is there any way to get this ported to the Pi2? looking for a nice visualisation . now with a more powerful CPU it should be possible , IMHO ... RE: Visualisation for Pi's GPU? - ironic_monkey - 2015-02-11 maybe for a pi2 running windows10. if not, nope. Therefor you want to read the feature suggestion discussion here instead http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=51561 And read http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=138602 ProjectM upstream is only for available for OpenGL and OpenGL ES for Linux/Android/iOS, and not for Windows/DirectX. http://projectm.sourceforge.net ProjectM for OpenGL is an LGPL licensed reverse engineered reimplementation of MilkDrop, as MilkDrop is Windows/Direct3D only. So I think that you guys are mean that it would be a nice with a ProjectM port for Raspberry Pi, and not a MilkDrop port? Code: git clone git://git.code.sf.net/p/projectm/code projectm-code Also make sure to checkout the many forks of ProjectM on GitHub.com RE: Visualisation for Pi's GPU? - soyxan - 2015-06-05 Any news on this? Will it be possible to have more visualizations in our Raspberry Pi 2? RE: Visualisation for Pi's GPU? - popcornmix - 2015-06-05 (2015-06-05, 13:06)soyxan Wrote: Any news on this? Will it be possible to have more visualizations in our Raspberry Pi 2? But does ProjectM work on the Raspberry Pi 2 in Kodi now? Every time I try to search if ProjectM can install and work on the Pi2, everyone seems to just throw out old links. I go to sourceforge and it seems to be there, dated from 2012. How do I get the tar.gz to install into OpenELEC/Kodi? RE: Visualisation for Pi's GPU? - and7ey - 2016-05-26 Will ProjectM run on Pi3?) RE: Visualisation for Pi's GPU? - Milhouse - 2016-05-26 (2016-05-26, 18:59)and7ey Wrote: Will ProjectM run on Pi3?) No, ProjectM uses OpenGL which the Pi3 doesn't support (it uses OpenGLES). |
