hi,
ok, this is my first post, but i have searched for the answer and read all the things i'm supposed to before posting, so please don't flame me.

right, so i my issue is:
i am trying to play my xbox games from my hard drive so they load faster, but xbmc doesn't see the games. i have changed the settings in the gui so that it looks at drive f:. anyways, i have kai's xlink running on my linksys wrt54g. when i run xbmc or avalauch, everything is great. i get the auto detection notices saying they've connected to the xlink network. so far, so good. i'm not really sure how to use the avalaunch stuff, but i'll save that issue for another website.

the only thing i can think of is editing the .xml file.....

please help.
thanks

ok. so i tried editing my .xml file.....
somewhat of a success. i can see the files in a folder called, "games"
(note: when i put a dot on the flatten hierarcy, it makes nothing visible, so i removed that dot.)

my only issue now is that i would like to have xbmc link the hard drive game so that when i choose an available arena and click on "join" it sees the hard drive game and launches it, like it does when there's a game disc in the dvd drive.

much thanks if you can help!!!!

noob here and i've had the same problem. i have xlink pointing to f:games. halo 2 works but for some reason my other 2 games (battlefront 2 and call of duty 2) are not detected. i get the "insert disk...." screen pop up. do i have to change the depth of where it searches for games? they are in subfolders....f:games\halo 2, f:games\star wars battlefront 2... please help....thanks.

just did some more searching and i think i found the problem

"you need a saved game or profile on the hd for it to be found automatically."

i'm gonna try this out....hope that helps you...
