Dreambox 800 HD --> XBMC error "VU+/Enigma Connection Lost" - Kruemelmonster - 2014-01-27
Hi,
for the last three days I am trying to connect my XBMC (running on a Win7 HTPC Version 12.3) to my Dreambox 800 HD Newnigma2 v3.3.2 with Web-interface 1.7.1.
I followed every single step of http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=PVR/Backend/VUPlus .
Unfortunately it will not connect. I cannot setup or start Live TV or see TV Channels or Recordings. All I keep getting is that little error box in the bottom right corner "No PRV clients have been started yet.." followed by "VU+ / Enigma Client - Connection lost".
I have changed the root password, set it to mandatory, removed it again. The ports work fine, I can stream tv signal of my dreambox via browser, vlc or ipad.
I also tested the connection from an HTC ONE X (running XBMC 12.3 Frodo) and from my Laptop (Win7 Prof with XBMC 12.3 Frodo). Same errors.
Questions:
1. Is there a different plugin that I should use than the "VU+ / Enigma2 Clients" in native XMBC Frodo?
2. Is there any plugin that I need to install on my dreambox?
3. Is potentially a newer Newnigma2 or Web-Interface required?

I've got the same error while setting add-on with VU+Ultimo and BlackHole image.
1.You must disable Live TV first
2. Configure VU+ / Enigma Client
3. Enable Live TV.
2a. Configuring VU+ / Enigma Client .
1.General
VU+ hostname.... = Dreambox IP ( must be static )
2..Advanced
1.Streaming Port = 8001 ( this is standard port at least by VU+)
2.Webinterface Port = 8080 or 80 ( you can see this one in web-interfae settings on your DB. In my case it's different because I've changed it in VU+ )
3.Username= root
4.Password=passwd. you've set.
Save and Enable Add-on.
Restart XBMC
Go to Add-on and check if is still enabled.
Enable Lie TV.
P.S.
Once again, this worked for me and I don't know if another box or image has any influence to the Add-on to work.

Thorougly tried that.
Same result.
Is there any way to TEST, if my PVR-backend is working? I can use BLACKBOX with my IPAD and I can stream via VLC-Player. Does that mean, PVR-Backend on dreambox is working allright?
Or are there other plugins that might be broken?

Go to Settings/Television/ and tick the top one settings for Enable. That helped for me cuz I had it off.

My mistake!
I had TWO problems with XBMC. This log file was from my PC, where I cannot start XBMC at all. Tried three different versions (11,12 and nightly). It always stops.
The other problem is with my HTPC and the impossibility to watch TV streamed from my Dreambox 800 HD PRV. I will fetch a logfile from this computer and post it here later.

I've got the same error while setting add-on with VU+Ultimo and BlackHole image.
1.You must disable Live TV first
2. Configure VU+ / Enigma Client
3. Enable Live TV.

VU+ hostname.... = Dreambox IP ( must be static )
2..Advanced
1.Streaming Port = 8001 ( this is standard port at least by VU+)
2.Webinterface Port = 8080 or 80 ( you can see this one in web-interfae settings on your DB. In my case it's different because I've changed it in VU+ )
3.Username= root
4.Password=passwd. you've set.
Save and Enable Add-on.
Restart XBMC
Go to Add-on and check if is still enabled.
Enable Lie TV.
P.S.
Once again, this worked for me and I don't know if another box or image has any influence to the Add-on to work.

Is there any way to TEST, if my PVR-backend is working? I can use BLACKBOX with my IPAD and I can stream via VLC-Player. Does that mean, PVR-Backend on dreambox is working allright?
Or are there other plugins that might be broken?
I have a vu+ running blackhole 1.7.9 and i am trying to stream on my xbmc (on rasb pi running openelec). I have searched many forums and tried your procedure to the letter with no success. still getting the message "No pvr clients have been started yet"....any help please?

Hi, sorry for hijacking the thread.
I am currently using a Zgemma H2S E2 sat receiver. I am attempting to stream channels to other kodi devices, this works fine on my windows laptop running Kodi v16.1.
However when I attempt to load the channels on my android devices (also running 16.1), it gets as far as PVR client is loading channels and nothing happens. Any advice?
I was previously able to load the channels from my Wetek play to my android devices but since I switched to the Zgemma it only loads on Windows.
P.S the android devices I have are Firestick, Amiko A3 player and Minix Neo X8-H.
