everytime i get on xlink i get into the xlink dashboard it keeps disconnecting when i tri to chat or join a game. i don't understand it. when i'm just looking at the games and friends list it doesn't disconnect. when i actually tri to do something it pops up a message that says i have been diconnected and then i have to reconnect. it keeps doing the same thing though, can anyone tell me what is wrong or what i can do.

thanks,
edj

check port forwarding and firewall settings. mine did that along time ago when it was firewalled.

i am opened the 30000 port but it still does it but i'm gonna tri to turn my firewall off and tri it because that is the last thing i know what to do.

also, open/forward port 0.0.0.1 udp

hey thanks but do i need to type it in as 0001 or 0.0.0.1 udp. i didn't know exactly what you meant. thanks again.

message me back,
edj

if your router have the upnp feature, you can put port 0 for the engine in xlink. then there is no need for portforwarding. it will chose his own port.

sollie

i don't think mine has that sollie so i had to portfowared it. i'm about to give up on it because even the regular xlink running off the pc and not the dashboard doesn't work.

thanks,
edj

depending on what firewall you use, you should be able to allow something like..

ip address: 0.0.0.1 (include the .'s)
ports: all
type: udp (not tcp)
duration: forever.

but first turn your firewall off long enough to test for the problem. if it still does it without the firewall then that ain't your problem.
