openelec 4.0 rc7 settings not correctly displayed - toccata10 - 2014-05-04
Thanks for the transparency skin: it's very nice.
My problem: tested with Openelec4.0 RC7 on my Zotac ID41 (upgrading from 3.2.4).
In the OpenELEC Configuration Addon, I can see only main items: for example I see "System" and the "keyboard" item but the "keyboard layout" is not displayed until I put the cursor on it.
A soon as I leave it, it disapears.
In brief: I can see the main items but not the secondary ones. No pbs on the xbmc settings pages, it's just within this OpenELEC Configuration Addon.
I tried the same on confluence and the display is ok. I tried changing the dirty region setting from 1 to 3 without any effect.
transparency: incorrect display
confluence: correct display
transparency version: 6.0.6
It's usable but I wanted to let you know.

i don't have any oe installs myself, so need to find a way to test it.

If I understand correctly, OE uses the xbmc repos for most of his add-ons, so I believe OE uses the official xbmc addon repo for Transparency.
The Zotac ID41 is an Intel Atom D525 1.8 GHz Dual-Core+GPU NVIDIA ION (w/512MB DDR3 memory).
By the way, your skin is excellent. Thanks for your work.

right, found the addon.
the problem is with the color definitions used by the addon.
you'd best file a bug report at their forum.
there's nothing i can do from my end to make it work.

so, colors like "grey", "grey2", "grey3" are no-no for skins other than confluence?
sry if the question looks dumb, I am not a skinner.
because, if thats the case, vnsi5 pvr client would also be affected.

true, there are a number of colors defined in xbmc that can be safely used:
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/master/system/colors.xml
but things like grey2 / grey3 are confluence specific.

I'll address the issue in openelec settings addon ASAP (in fact, I BROKE it with a recent commit to make it a bit cleaner and closer to confluence)
