Watching Live TV in 13.1 does not work - bergqvistjl - 2014-06-30

Hi, i'm using XBMC 13.1 connected to a myth 0.27-fixes backend via cmyth, but Live TV playback fails whenever I choose a channel. This is the log: http://mikahaksb02.srv.sn/xbmc.log

The error msg on screen is: "Recorder unavailable". it then appears to lose connection to the backend and reconnect, attempting to play the stream again, but it again fails.

Everything else works (scheduling recordings, viewing recordings etc. Just not watching Live TV. I can watch recorded files as they're recording.

MythTV 0.27.2 was released yesterday (the only announcement I've seen was on the MythTV users mailing list). It appears to have broken LiveTV playback on XBMC. I haven't dug into it yet, but all of my XBMC clients get the Recorder Unavailable/Channel Unavailable series of notifications, while mythfrontend works fine.

Yes, I was about to add it's broken in my Linux xbmc frontend too.

This thread has instructions on reverting mythtv to 0.27.1 http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=198944

Or you could try the new mythtv pvr addon http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=198833 which will be the way forward given that it properly uses the mythtv services api instead of the cmyth library.

See here http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=110694&pid=1742237#pid1742237 for more discussion and a ppa.
