Double entry in artist library - gorschten - 2014-08-18

Hi There. I have more than one entry for an artist in my library. On my NAS all artists are stored like:
  • artist 1
    • album 1
      • track 1
      • track 2
    • album 2
      • track 1
      • track 2
    • unknown album
      • track 1
      • track 2
  • artist 2
    • album 1
      • track 1
      • track 2
    • album 2
      • track 1
      • track 2
    • unknown album
      • track 1
      • track 2

and so on...

But in XMBC library sorted by artists for some entries it looks like (most of them are listed once and correct):
  • artist 1
    • album 2
      • track 1
      • track 2
    • unknown album
      • track 1
      • track 2

  • artist 1
    • album 1
      • track 1
      • track 2


So my question is why is the same artist listed twice? I want to see it only one times.

Doublecheck the mp3-tags in your music files. There might be subtle differences which make the listings go wrong. Even uppercase/lowercase differences may do that, or hardly visible (extra) spaces.
