Wake-on-lan remote continuously waking htpc - Stephanm84 - 2015-01-13 hi! Wake-on-lan didn't work for me while I was using wifi for my htpc but since I installed a cable the function works. The problem now is that it looks like the remote app on iOS is continuously sending the wake on lan signal. If I put the htpc to sleep and I open the remote (without having closed it before that) the htpc is woken up, without me having touched the wake-on-lan button. But the waking up is not only while opening the app, the mentioned situation is only how I discovered that it has something to do with the app and not for example flirc (disconnected is). Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? Thanks! RE: Wake-on-lan remote continuously waking htpc - t4_ravenbird - 2015-01-14 Maybe your server reacts to Wake on pattern and not only Wake on LAN ? See for instance here how to enable/disable. Applies to windows servers, not sure if other os's has similar feature RE: Wake-on-lan remote continuously waking htpc - Stephanm84 - 2015-01-14 Thanks! After searching some more and testing I found out that it is the 'wake on pattern match' function waking my pc. The problem that remains is that the xbmc remote WOL feature only works with 'wake on pattern match' enabled. The WOL function in my NIC is of no influence on the xbmc remote WOL function. Also, with both WOL and wake on pattern match enabled the energy saving setting 'only wake on magic packets' does resolve the spontaneous waking up but also renders the WOL function on xbmc remote useless. Any ideas? RE: Wake-on-lan remote continuously waking htpc - t4_ravenbird - 2015-01-15 I am no expert in those settings and I believe it can be tricky to set it just right, I guess you need to google it. I would have tried also with an alternative WOL-sender (it could also be the IOS-app is not correctly setup?) This is a good one, me thinks : link |
